Moneyliners: March 2006
http://moneyliners.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
A weblog dedicated to sports forecasting and value-based investing. Sunday, March 12, 2006. The system says the Calgary Flames should beat Colorado today. The books have Calgary at 115, an underdog. Hockey is about value. If a team is likely to win and they are giving you odds, that's value. Posted by Bruno @ 11:32 AM. Sunday, March 05, 2006. And here's the question: "Is there a legitimate reason to bet parlays? I say, "Yes." Let me explain. Moneyliners has always said the way to win at sports wagering i...

Moneyliners: January 2006
http://moneyliners.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
A weblog dedicated to sports forecasting and value-based investing. Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Moneyliners' Super Bowl pick. The theme of this blog has been to find the way to maximize the return for an investment. Risk less, win more, blah blah blah. The recommendation has been in the NFL playoffs if you are betting the underdog, bet the moneyline, if betting the favorite lay the points. Since post season NFL games almost never end with the land of critical indifference, these are the value plays. But i...

A weblog dedicated to sports forecasting and value-based investing. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Yes, that is the truth of the matter. No teams made it through the two-filter gauntlet again today, so I have no value-based recommendations. Last week: 9-3 ( 269). So far this season: 16-6 ( 592). Posted by Bruno @ 9:37 AM. Saturday, May 27, 2006. This week: 9-3 ( 269). No teams passed through the two-filter test, so check back tomorrow, because several teams got through the first filter. Posted by Bruno @ 5:48 AM.

Moneyliners: December 2006
http://moneyliners.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
A weblog dedicated to sports forecasting and value-based investing. Saturday, December 30, 2006. Utah giving 11 to Portland sounds like a lot. While the model says the Jazz could be expected to cruise to an easy 18-point win, the reality if the NBA is that teams don't really care if they win by 9 any more than if they win by 11. Just ask the last night's Golden State bettors. Wizards 3 at Milwaukee. Posted by Bruno @ 8:49 AM. Friday, December 29, 2006. Here are my favored choices for Friday night NBA:.

A weblog dedicated to sports forecasting and value-based investing. Monday, January 01, 2007. Barely got to my computer in time to take Boise State and 7 in the Fiesta Bowl. And, the Boise State team and fans are known throughout the Mountain region for their arrogance. So as the Fox announcers fawn over the Sooners ("great challenge" as they go to commercial in the first quarter), don't be surprised if the Broncos turn out to be all the Sooners care to deal with by the time the game is over.

Moneyliners: February 2007
http://moneyliners.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
A weblog dedicated to sports forecasting and value-based investing. Saturday, February 03, 2007. Normally being in 40th isn't that big of a deal. But yours truly, a.k.a. rhino95, is 40th of more than 7700 in the Wagerline NHL contest, with a 17,290 unit gain on the season as of Saturday morning. But the real reason for the braggadocio is the winning percentage: 80.32. At 57-14 for the season, rhino95 is at least 12 percentage points better than anybody else in the Top 50. My picks for Saturday:. The guys...

A weblog dedicated to sports forecasting and value-based investing. Sunday, February 26, 2006. 0-5-1 for a day of picking NBA games is no easier to do than 5-0-1. Watching the scoreboard Saturday night felt like walking into the wedding carnage scene in "Kill Bill, Vol. 1." There was blood everywhere. Some of it I deserved. I had a hunch the Jazz would not beat New Orleans twice in their home-and-home. But the extent of the dispair! Det 5 over Clev. NJ 4 over Atl. Mia 5 over Tor. Was 2 over Mem. Friday's...

Moneyliners: September 2006
http://moneyliners.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
A weblog dedicated to sports forecasting and value-based investing. Friday, September 22, 2006. The Colts opened as a 9' point favorite and are down to 7 at home against the Jags this Sunday. The 9' might seem like alot, but the Colts are explosive and have scored easily against the Jags before. They built a big lead on the Jags last December in Jacksonville, and held on to win after an extended span of garbage time that saw the Jags come back enough to push an 8-point spot. See ya at the bank. Posted by...
