As the Page Turns: May 2011
http://tuckerreadstoo.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
As the Page Turns. So many books, so little time. Monday, May 30, 2011. Amazing. Fantastic. Typical Libba Bray. Intelligent, creative, hilarious, and a constant sense of, Oh my god, she actually said that out loud. Miss Teen USA meets Lord of the Flies. Meets dystopia starring evil Corporation. America's obsession with appearance and celebrity grilled to perfection. Even the cover art is spot on. Sunday, May 22, 2011. A beautiful graphic novel. The story begins with a sorry sort who aspires to be a p...

As the Page Turns: Reading, Reading, Read
http://tuckerreadstoo.blogspot.com/2011/11/reading-reading-read.html
As the Page Turns. So many books, so little time. Saturday, November 12, 2011. Reading, Reading, Read. The title explains it all, I think. Levithan never disappoints. Me, anyway. Although the town in which this takes place seems somewhat (okay totally) unrealistically enlightened, the characters ring true. Love the cover art, too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). As the Page Turns. So many books, so little time. Sunday, June 19, 2011. Etc, etc., etc. The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Volume One: The Pox Party. Complex and challenging, once you get hooked he switches voices! Zombies vs. Unicorns. Edited by Holly Black and Justine Larbaleister. Okay, who could resist such a title? And the cover art and end papers? Middle School, The Worst Years of My Life. Heavy hitter Patterson of Maximum Ride fame takes on the Wimpy Kid and, well, f...

http://tuckerreadstoo.blogspot.com/2012/01/january-reading.html
As the Page Turns. So many books, so little time. Sunday, January 8, 2012. Third in the Leviathan. Trilogy, Westerfield delivers another page turner that combines fact, fiction, and fantasy in a seamless narrative. His note at the end, as in the others, informs readers of what is real and what is not, making for an enjoyable history lesson. Between Shades of Gray. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). As the Page Turns: August 2011
http://tuckerreadstoo.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
As the Page Turns. So many books, so little time. Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Summer Reads, cont'd. By Gene Luen Yang. Another three story graphic novel from Yang, another home run. American Born Chinese. Was great, but this one draws you in even faster - a combination of storyline that takes off like a rocket and artwork that is essential and perfectly executed. Attacking more general themes of identity, angst, and the need to escape reality - what is real? Than in ABC. Fantastic. Along for the Ride.

As the Page Turns. So many books, so little time. Sunday, January 23, 2011. Cohn and Levithan: In Sync. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. By Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. There is something about the way these two. Isn't the underlying story and character of the characters the important thing? I'm on the fence. But this is two in a row by this pair that is so intelligent and fun - see Dash and Lily's Book of Dares. That I am already on to N aomi and Ely's No Kiss List. Saturday, January 22, 2011.

As the Page Turns. So many books, so little time. Sunday, November 13, 2011. How I Live Now. For some reason I thought that this was a WWII era novel, but it is not. Amazing. Perfect british voice, though some trouble capturing the american one. A chilling look at what could easily be the future through the eyes of a 15 year old. Saturday, November 12, 2011. Apologies. Technical difficulties have kept me away from the slog, er, blog. What happened to Amazon Associates' easy peasy image factory? This was ...
