Dry Fly 'Expert': "A Couple of Hours"
http://dryflyexpert.blogspot.com/2015/04/a-couple-of-hours.html
A few words and pictures for those who are or would like to be "expert" at dry fly fishing on rivers. Photograph by Steve Barnett. Friday, 10 April 2015. A Couple of Hours". Ten years ago we moved house to live by the river. This evening's happenings illustrate why it was a good idea. After a day spent in the home office, with telephone pressed to the ear for most of the time, a complete change was very much needed to maintain sanity. So, whilst his pal was occupied watching, waiting and occasionally cat...

It is still the time for tying flies and it is easy to concentrate on tying patterns for the very beginning of the season. So here's a prompter for you to look a little further ahead. A few words and pictures for those who are or would like to be "expert" at dry fly fishing on rivers. Photograph by Steve Barnett. Sunday, 24 May 2015. Are we nearly there yet? Any child taken by car to somewhere exciting knows this question (and its variants). Surely, we have all asked it? Going dry fly fishing in Derbyshire, at this time, has something of the same feeling to it. "Are we nearly there yet? If you'd asked me this any time up to today I would have had to answer "Not yet! However, marginal ...

Reel Fishing: July 2014
http://reelfishinguks.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 15 July 2014. I decided that I would knock Sam a couple of lures up and invite him out with me on my boat to some of the areas that I have found productive. Here is one of the lures that I made for him:-. This one is a surface lure, he seemed really pleased with it and I hope it brings him some good luck. We started off in a small bay, with absolutely no success. So after half an hour or so we decided to move on, after a while Sam asked his usual "are you confident? Wednesday, 9 July 2014. This ...

http://longstickandabentpin.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
A long stick and a bent pin. 8220;A trout is a moment of beauty known only to those who seek it.” – Arnold Gingrich. Friday, April 11, 2014. Cork Handle Part One. I had hoped to do this in one go but a broken collarbone has incapacitated me somewhat. I am pretty much housebound for the next 5 weeks, I can't even tie flies. So this post is part one, more to follow when I have mended. You can see from the following that I am not intending to remove too much from the cork cylinder,. Thursday, April 3, 2014.

Fly Fishing in Greece. An angler's pursuit for wild trout. Fly Casting… and Driving. September 29, 2012. Posted by Κωστής in Fly casting. If you really think about it… learning to cast is like learning to drive. In the beginning you always mind the clutch pedal and think how to balance it with the accelerator. You can compare an engine that stalls with a cast that doesn’t meet the expectations of the caster. I consider ‘Casts that Catch Fish’ DVD. One of the best along with Mel Krieger’s. Dry Fly 'E...

The area is beautiful, with plenty to do and to keep the family amused. View my complete profile. Bakew...

Fly Fishing in Greece. An angler's pursuit for wild trout. Last… but not least! October 18, 2012. Posted by Κωστής in Fly fishing. This past weekend was my last chance to fly fish for brown trout before the end of the season. I went on a fantastic weekend-trip to one of the most green and beautiful places of the country, with Markella, my best friend George and his girlfriend Anastasia. I fished only for a few hours in the whole weekend, but nevertheless I enjoyed it! October 18, 2012. October 18, 2012.

Sheffield on the fly: Trout!
http://sheffieldonthefly.blogspot.com/2011/04/trout.html
Sheffield on the fly. Exploits on the rivers in and around Sheffield. Wednesday, 13 April 2011. Trout season is now well upon us - a quick visit to the Don after work with some tricky fishing put me into 2 trout today. I fished an area I had not fished before, nearer the middle of town than previously. I had scoped it out a couple of days ago, when the pictures below were taken - lovely and warm, and not too breezy. That was not the case today however! 14 April 2011 at 08:17. Keep it coming please. Sheffield on the fly: Bailey bridge up to Norfolk bridge Weir
http://sheffieldonthefly.blogspot.com/2011/04/bailey-bridge-up-to-norfolk-bridge-weir.html
Sheffield on the fly. Exploits on the rivers in and around Sheffield. Friday, 15 April 2011. Bailey bridge up to Norfolk bridge Weir. A warm and overcast day today, so reasonable conditions for a spot of fishing. I went down to Attercliffe again, parking on Effingham street and crossing the bailey bridge to access the river. The river here is slow and wide, with lots of weed on the bottom. I quickly moved further upstream, and fished the faster waters down from the weir. Looking upstream from the weir.
