We headed out early on Hwy. 12 to Torrey driving through the Escalante, or Grand Staircase, area for about 50 miles. The Escalante National Monument is a labyrinth of canyons, mesas and rolling slickrock covering 1.9 million acres. It is mind boggling to look out and see this landscape going on for miles and miles. North to Alaska and Back. A fine WordPress.com site. The historic Bothell Hotel was built in 1927, the flapper era, it maintains the original American revival architecture. The suite came with two bathrooms. The sink and toilet fixtures seemed to be original. We got a King Suite and decided to stay two nights. That way we could sleep in and then explore the wonderful ole time downtown here. Another bad start to a day. We traveled straight to Sedalia, Missouri to stay at a historic hotel, The Bothwell.
