Jeff's Cycling Adventures: Day 3 - Dordrecht to Antwerp
http://jeffscyclingadventures.blogspot.com/2013/07/day-3-dordrecht-to-antwerp.html
This blog follows the cycling adventures that Jeff Douglas pursues. Sunday, July 14, 2013. Day 3 - Dordrecht to Antwerp. The night before, we had a tour of Dordrecht, with its canals and buildings. It is a pretty town, as usual, with its many old buildings. Tom, our guide, gave us one of his many “true” stories about the history of the buildings. In this case we were standing outside of this restaurant that used to be part of a monastery. Statue of Longa Wappa. Aila along the Oysterdam. Once we were all ...

We made our way towards Damme (pronounced Dam-may). In the town has its usual town square, canal and church. This church was different however. Jeff's Cycling Adventures: Amsterdam to Bruges - Days before trip start
http://jeffscyclingadventures.blogspot.com/2013/07/amsterdam-to-bruges-days-before-trip.html
This blog follows the cycling adventures that Jeff Douglas pursues. Friday, July 5, 2013. Amsterdam to Bruges - Days before trip start. Buzz’s 6 yellow legs were spread out, clinging on. We increased the speed to 45 MPH as we started to approach the entrance to the highway. His body quivered and his wings flapped uncontrollably, but he still held on. This is amazing! His body lowered and legs spread out at what looked like the maximum angle. What will it take for him to give up? As we approached the high...

This blog follows the cycling adventures that Jeff Douglas pursues. Saturday, July 6, 2013. Day 1 - Amsterdam to Vianen. One of many windmills that we will see. There are plenty of drawbridges too. The canals are green with plants and algae. Cars and bikes share some of the paths. Tomorrow, we will be riding 31 miles. I know Aila is a bit nervous about this, as the most she has done in a day is 20. We have all day to see the sights and make the ride, and I fully expect that she will be successful.

Thursday, July 10, 2014. The Blue Ridge Parkway. A short ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway today on the way to Maryland for a ride on the C&O Canal path and Great Allegheny Passage with Mark W., Mark K., Jeff, and Gary. It was a beautiful day for a ride. No humidity with slightly overcast skies. Also a good time to make sure the hybrid bike was in order. Tightening of a loose spoke and a drop of oil where I had a squeak, and it should be ready to go on Saturday. Southbound at Mile 4. The Blue Ridge Parkway.
