Sunday, March 18, 2012. At about 11 pm the night before my son's 5th birthday - so had a bit of time to spare! I washed and dried it while he was at school and presented it to him that evening. He immediately snuggled into it right on the floor and it's been on his bed since. I'm so pleased that he loves it so much and it was really nice that he showed it. Sunday, April 8, 2012. So I've been sewing long enough now to have the skills and speed to 'whip something up'. It's great to actually be able to sew something in less than an hour, albeit basic. I have two items I made for gifts to share:. For a size 5 I used a 16" width-of-fabric strip and a 20" length of elastic. The second gift is a portable change mat for a friend who just had her second baby. This one took a bit longer, but probably still under 2 hours. It made the quilting super easy and quick.

Sunday, October 9, 2011. I thought about making this skirt for a long time. I really need to start using my precious fabric so I finally got it out, cut it and made this. It was so much fun! And it turned out just as I wanted. I only had fat quarters of the Castle Peeps fabric, so I made this up as I went along, using the amounts of fabric I had. Sunday, November 20, 2011. Another sweet little dress. 2 has been gifted. I made it for a good friend's one-year-old. I let her choose the fabric (mum, not the 1 year old! And was really happy when she chose this fabric from the Habitat line. I think it makes a pretty hip urban baby dress. I made the 18 month size and added a bit of length to the elastic, with the hope that it will also fit next summer as a top. I'm using the Oliver S bubble dress pattern. Wish me luck!
