Mutterings and Meanderings: February 2009
http://mutteringsandmeanderings.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Friday, February 06, 2009. The way we were. In a TV schedule awash with things I don't want to watch, I have been heartened by BBC2's Victorian Farm. Eventually, I found what I was looking for in the most wonderful old brown-paged volume called Economy Success Cookery. I discovered that an ox's tongue - as it is properly called - should be boiled for two and a half hours ...

The Satirical Muvver speaks out!: April 2008
http://hayleysperfect.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, 20 April 2008. I'm Happy with Being Left on the Shelf. There's bags of Room and it's Bloody Peaceful! Did you know the word 'Spinster', comes from the 18th century? Unmarried women who had nowhere else to go, were sent to spin houses a type of workhouse - to spin yarn. As a result they were called Spinsters and, eventually this came to be the term used for unmarried women. I've raised my son alone, been hard but I've done it. With no contact for the last 12 years from ex Mr not so wonderful, ...

Cross-cultural musings of a London mum: Travelling with the brood on the high speed train to Beijing
http://londonmummymusings.blogspot.com/2012/09/travelling-with-brood-on-high-speed.html
Cross-cultural musings of a London mum. Happily married to a lovely workaholic, I am a pretty normal stay-at-home-mum with a 4 year old kid I home educate and a two-year-old who wants to decide on everything. Having always lived between cultures, I am keen to explore cultural differences in rearing babies and bringing up children, cherrying picking between the western norms in Europe, America the oriental traditions of southeast Asia, China and Hong Kong. The advantage of taking the high speed train to B...

Sam Hayes: Another one from Russia with love...
http://samhayes.blogspot.com/2011/02/another-one-from-russia-with-love.html
Thursday, 10 February 2011. Another one from Russia with love. Russian cover of TELL TALE - 'THE INFORMER'. This time it's Big Bird and a little ballet dancer but oh how I love it, despite it being rather sinister-looking! It's the cover of Tell Tale and my Russian contact (aka my Dad's wife - see my piece in the Sunday Times Style magazine this week for more on that story! And soon I'll be adding Dutch and Norwegian covers with the ink still wet on contracts for more titles sold in these countries.

Welcome to The Dulwich Music Shop
Welcome to The Dulwich Music Shop. THE DULWICH MUSIC SHOP. Opened in 1985, the whim of Nigel Keates that Dulwich needed a Music Shop. This was an inspired guess; no market research had been conducted and neither partner had any business or retail experience. The reaction was overwhelming: what had been intended as a part-time enterprise quickly became an eighteen hour-a-day struggle to keep abreast of demand. It was quite evident, even to the partners, that Dulwich needed a Music Shop! And a Bow Rehairing.
