Nunavut Quest 2009: The Video. Monday, April 20, 2009. Yes, I know that there is a huge grammatical mistake in this video . oopsie. I'll fix it eventually . maybe . if I still have bandwidth *. Nunavut Quest 2009: And They're Off! Today, all of the teams left Arctic Bay heading to Pond Inlet. And what an event it was. We all went down from the school around 1:15pm to watch the mushers and their support teams head off on their four day "cross-country" journey. And it was a beautiful day out today too!

Sunday, August 31, 2008. No, I don't have water. Wanna bring some over? Labels: Life in the North. Out for a Boat Ride. Thursday, August 28, 2008. Last night a group of us teachers were taken out on a boat by a co-worker and her husband (Thanks so much Geela and Sampson! The trip out rocked! Although it was a little chilly out there on the bay when we hit the wind, it wasn't too bad. And the sun was shining down on us like there was no tomorrow. The Bay @ 6:30 PM. Iceberg in the distance. This little jem...

Dealing with the creative daemons that keep hacking away at the inside of my skull. A Brief Note on What Actually Makes Teaching Worthwhile. Asymp; 2 Comments. Education and why it matters. Teenagers are a tough bunch to teach sometimes. They are inconsistent, moody, smelly, obstinate, and often highly resistant to your best-intentioned assistance. You measure your victories with them therefore in small ways. Fewer eye rolls. One less fist-fight. Moments of personal responsibility. This is success for me.

Permanence | Exercising Monsters

Dealing with the creative daemons that keep hacking away at the inside of my skull. Asymp; 1 Comment. I like tattoos. I think that they are cool. I don’t have any myself, but I like to think that I can pick out a good one from a bad one. My wife, while still a fan of tattoos, has forced me to wait until my 30. Signs placed near the registers. And with tattoos being so darned permanent, the result of a bad choice would be much worse than having another MEC backpack cluttering up the closet. Thought on &ld...

Sunday, May 13, 2007. That church looks cool. Ever been inside? They usually make interesting photo subjects. Indeed, I have never been. Maybe this week I'll go take a photo for you though! The stained glass is really nice, or so I hear.). It's a crazy, diverse planet isn't it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Inuvik photos: Hooks and barbs
http://inuvikpm.blogspot.com/2007/05/hooks-and-barbs.html
Phil Morin's views from Inuvik - - see the full blog at Inuvikphotos.ca. Thursday, May 24, 2007. These antler and bone fishing tools are displayed in Inuvik's Inuvialuit Cultural Resource Centre. It's a mini museum and library which preserves traditional culture, and should definitely be visited by anyone coming through Inuvik. Look at the ages listed on the bone hooks! Also interesting is the inclusion of a "labret piercing," to be worn through a man's cheek. Thursday, May 24, 2007.
