Patty Friedmann as author redux. Laquo; September 2010. October 15, 2010. Three Steps to Death. It used to be that as we aged wed talk about our aches and pains. Now it seems that all my conversations, even with people half my age, are about medications- but of the psychotropic variety. I still have feelings. So I was thinking the other day: is this step one toward death? And once I cant think or feel, I can let go physically. I wont know, and I wont fear. My body can let go. Three, two, one. Ive alr...

Patty Friedmann as author redux. Laquo; I am a Jew. Blinding white space ». June 23, 2007. Sand in the oyster. That's what it took. Though for all I know the pearl will not form. Or, if formed, will sit in the oyster until it rots. But I'm writing a short story. A closed call for stories came out from NOLAFugees the same day I read a feature in. And tell them that their piece made even me, a bleeding resident, feel Katrina fatigue. It did not miss one cliche. I'm maybe a third of the way through. I'm...

Patty Friedmann as author redux. Laquo; Sand in the oyster. I mean it, Br'er Fox ». July 18, 2007. It's so nice to have quit writing. It means I can write like crazy. Last month I wrote a whacked short story and sent it a couple of places and didn't give a damn what happened to it. This month I'm writing a screenplay. Since I'm not writing, I have all the time in the world to do this very right or very wrong. And with a screenplay, it's not hard for it to look beautifully right. But if I'm going to get m...

Patty Friedmann as author redux. September 05, 2010. LEAVE MY WORDS ALONE. Ive been in the throes of terrible self-defense for weeks now, and I decided to check myself out. I have two books coming soon, and Ive been edited like crazy- something that never happened to me before, so I wanted to look back at my history. In turn, Ive looked at my reviews, and Ive been consistently praised for my style.my voice.my flair. Clearly their choice not to edit me was a good one. Im also struggling with another novel...

Patty Friedmann as author redux. Laquo; Blinding white space. Prescience sucks ». August 18, 2007. I mean it, Br'er Fox. The briar patch looks very comfortable. I can be thrown in there soon, and I will loll around in that prickly little world that is my own special relaxation zone. But I don't want to go. I've been working steadily for the past few months on my screenplay. The Nearest Exit May Be Behind You. In short, I'd be finished. I'd be ready for the briar patch. I'll finish because the momentum wo...

Three Makes A Collection: May 2013
http://threemakesacollection.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Three Makes A Collection. Thursday, May 16, 2013. Put on a Smiley Face. Sometimes you need to smile. I see something every day that encourages a smile to peek through, as hard as it may be. The thing I see is my Smiley Face drinking glass. Seewouldn't this make you smile? I cannot remember what came first in my Smiley Face collection, the first set of drinking glasses or this. Would saving money make you smile? If your smile gets turned upside down and you happen to shed a tear, perhaps plucking a tissue...

Three Makes A Collection: Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Clock
http://threemakesacollection.blogspot.com/2012/04/wake-up-and-smell-coffee-clock.html
Three Makes A Collection. Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Clock. About two weeks ago we went to an estate sale where I found a clock to add to my clock collection. The price was right, only $2.00. However, the color was all wrong and it needed a little fixin'. Besides the awful blue color, do you see anything wrong?
