The Oakville Branch of the Ladies Auxiliary had their first meeting on April 22, 1942. There were only 22 members in our group at that time. Our association and link with the Royal Canadian Legion, Oakville Branch 114 has continued all these years. Membership to the Ladies Auxiliary is open to all females 19 years of age and over. Applications are available at the Branch please enquire with the Steward on duty. Which is held each year and is hosted by one of the Auxiliary groups within Zone B7.

Welcome to Oakville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 114. The Legion is more than just a social club where one can join and be part of the fun that goes on, enjoy a beverage among friends, sports, dinner and dances and other events. We are active in assisting veterans whether from WWII or after and remembering those who have past on, protecting our country and way of life. The Poppy has been widely recognized as a symbol of Remembrance, since it was first adopted in 1921. By wearing the poppy, we demonstrate our gratitude to those who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy. Each year, for two weeks before Remembrance Day, Legions throughout Ontario carry out our Poppy Campaign. The campaign raises awareness of the Poppy as a symbol of Remembrance. Funds raised during the Poppy Campaign are also used for the following. Expenses of the Branch Veteran Services Chairman.

Oakville Branch 114 started out in 1919 as a member of the British Empire Services League. This League was the pre-cursor to the organization now known as the Royal Canadian Legion. The Legion organization was founded in Winnipeg in 1925 and was incorporated by a special Act of Parliament Charter issued in 1926.
