Wednesday, 5 August 2015. Tealby to Donington on Bain. The lovely Irene packed us into her tiny car – four people, three rucksacks, two dogs, one of each of the latter underneath the parcel shelve in the boot – and drove us back to the path in the picture book village of Tealby. The cows stared at us. We hadn’t much food with us, but that was OK because four miles in was Ludford, a big village, bound to have a shop. Wrong! We walked on. Johnny’s feet were very painful. Though this did make him laugh.

Saturday, 8 August 2015. I’d wondered about getting the bus out to Stow, a few miles north of Lincoln, where Etheldreda is supposed to have stayed and stuck her stick in the ground and it sprouted. Some of the Lincoln Library ladies said I mustn’t miss it as it's amazing. But it seemed a very active way to spend a day off, so I have decided to come back another time to do that. We spent the afternoon being tourists. Admired the strange and wonderful stone carvings. Posed with walls, sculptures and statues.

Yesterday a girl lost her footing and fell from the cliffs near Filey, at the Blue Dolphin Caravan Park. She was winched up and was being treated in hospital.
