http://eastmoor.blogspot.com/2015/07/wordless-wednesday.html
Wednesday, 8 July 2015. 10 July 2015 at 09:36. With a big cheery wave to the box from a British designed loco (with a German Railways logo) that are now seen just about everywhere in continental Europe! 14 July 2015 at 10:54. The class 66 has become a European standard in many ways! They do get further afield too - Egypt, for example, has a fleet of them. Bizarrely you can see those passing similar signal boxes full of very similar equipment to the ones I know! 11 July 2015 at 01:44. 14 July 2015 at 11:02.

White Swan Yard: December 2012
http://whiteswanyard.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
The trials and tribulations of building a P4 layout. Saturday, 22 December 2012. How the idea was spawned. So, at the risk of stating the obvious, what did displaying Saltfleet teach us about the design of an exhibition layout? Visitors enjoy watching shunting even at smaller less specialised shows providing that the trains work properly. Just as importantly we enjoyed operating the layout in this way. Visitors also enjoy watching things move. Thursday, 20 December 2012. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). M&GN ...
O9 Modeller: A few bits and bobs left over... (in honour of Dave Lister)
http://o9modeller.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-few-bits-and-bobs-left-over-in-honour.html
Railway modelling in 7mm scale on 9mm gauge track, representing 15" gauge miniature railways and 18" gauge industrial railways. (Plus anything else that I choose to include! Sunday, 31 May 2015. A few bits and bobs left over. (in honour of Dave Lister). There's a few bits and bobs left over, but its always the same when you do a bit of do-it-yourself, isn't it? Wise words from the guy who mended the Chicken Soup machine on the 'Red Dwarf'. Having put all the parts to one side, on re-examination I decided...
White Swan Yard: Introduction
http://whiteswanyard.blogspot.com/2012/12/introduction.html
The trials and tribulations of building a P4 layout. Thursday, 20 December 2012. This blog aims to follow the progress made on a 4mm scale P4 (18.83mm track gauge) model representing the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway's White Swan Yard in Great Yarmouth in the early 1930s. The line to Lowestoft will also be included in part to the rear of the layout. Hopefully having to post here will keep us focused on the task in hand and act as an incentive to keep getting on with it all!
NSW Rail Rambler: October 2014
http://nswrailrambler.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
A collection of photographs and stories from five decades of train chasing. Friday, October 24, 2014. Travels with and in Uncle Sam. Over nearly a hundred posts on this blog I think I may have displayed a fairly parochial view of railways. To recompense, it may be time to display a broader horizon, starting with my various travels in the United States of America. This was my first train trip in the States - 3 January 1991 on the Texas Eagle. Over the next eight days I travelled from Texas to Chicago,...
NSW Rail Rambler: July 2015
http://nswrailrambler.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
A collection of photographs and stories from five decades of train chasing. Friday, July 31, 2015. Went down to the local station this morning to watch the star attraction of the NSW heritage railway scene steam by on its way to Botany. Anyway, before I load up this morning's proceedings, here's a couple of 60 classes in revenue service in 1966/67. Both at Campbelltown, both on coal trains. First up, 6002, in February 1966. Now just check out those cars behind 6016! Saturday, July 25, 2015. It even got a...
NSW Rail Rambler: December 2014
http://nswrailrambler.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
A collection of photographs and stories from five decades of train chasing. Sunday, December 7, 2014. Twenty years ago yesterday the NSW State Rail Authority auctioned locomotives which were deigned to be either at the end of their service life and/or surplus to current and anticipated requirements. In what became known as the Great Loco Auction. Another to survive the two decades through a series of (ahem) novel liveries has been 4488. It was purchased for a meagre $17,000. Currently it sits in ...CD re...
The Farthing Layouts: Small crates and tea chests
http://farthinglayouts.blogspot.com/2015/04/small-crates-and-tea-chests.html
Small crates and tea chests. I’ve been making my own crates and tea chests from printable veneer. Today I installed them in the goods depot at Farthing. The mezzanine floor at Farthing was used as a storage facility. Traders could have their wares stored while awaiting despatch and distribution. Space was literally at a premium, and this floor was always tidier and more well organised than the busy decks below. This part of the goods depot was inspired by the balcony floor at Hockley Goods. I've experime...
Round the Underground on an Engine – Fred T. Jane. | Basilica Fields

Round the Underground on an Engine – Fred T. Jane. The Romance of Modern London: III-Round the Underground on an Engine. Written and Illustrated by our Artist-Commissioner Fred T. Jane. In a short time our train rushed into the station, and a moment later we had boarded the engine. I was accommodated with a position near the left-hand tank, whence I could get an uninterrupted view ahead; but it had its drawbacks as the water in that tank was hot. Under the Underground (shades of Artillery Lane). From Far...

https://chrisl1953.wordpress.com/2013/11/11/and-a-year-later
Tottering into the future. Vague ramblings on railways, mountains, beer, cricket and libraries. Oh, and malt whisky. And a year later! The Lakes trip has come round again! However, the annual Lakes trip took place on the traditional weekend, but the weather was so grim, especially on the Saturday (downpour all day), that very few photos were taken. The one below is presented as evidence the trip DID take place! From → Mountains. Larr; The Lakes provides a lift. Botanic business…. →. You are commenting us...
‘Ostalgie’ | Railway Misadventures
https://korschtal.wordpress.com/2014/10/18/video-10-oct
Laquo; The Öchsle Railway. October 18, 2014 by Andy in Germany. 8216;Ostalgie’ is the German term for people getting nostalgic for the ‘good old days’ of East Germany, aka the German Democratic Republic or DDR, and the secure way of life in a socialist country*, and as October is the month of reunification, (actually it is celebrated on the 3rd, late as usual) it seems appropriate to have a look at the railway system in the former DDR. On the other hand the Class 119/229. Forgetting of course the state s...
