Food, photos, and thoughts. Monday, September 5, 2011. Provençal soupe au pistou. Looking over my past few posts, I see a trend- a trend that has probably led to my high cholesterol. Oh, the numbers. My total is 235 with the bad cholesterol at 143. Ouch. Thus the need to find recipes that feature more vegetables and beans and less fat and refined carbs. I don't seem to be able to find an amusing rhetorical stance. Straight ahead non-fiction recount. Oh well. It's all about pictures for me, anyway. So I hope these photos do justice to the pies I made to take to our friends' house for Thanksgiving. Food, photos, and thoughts. Saturday, May 21, 2011. Kale and Quinoa Salad with Arugula Pesto and Beehive Cheese. I would be a terrible cookbook writer. I don't measure, unless I absolutely must. Case in point- I made arugula pesto today. Here's the recipe:. Two cloves of garlic, medium-ish. Large handful of walnuts, or whatever nut you have on hand. A bunch of arugula. Glugs of olive oil (extra virgin of course). Blend in food processor until it is the consistency you like. That's it. Links to this post.

But more than the green chiles, I fell in love with PORK, specifically carne adovada (or adobada) at the Frontier. There in Albuquerque. Food, photos, and thoughts. Saturday, February 14, 2015. Half wheat half white pizza dough. Start at least 4 hours before you need to use the dough. Into a mixing bowl, add. 3 cups of whole wheat flour (I use King Arthur). 3 cups of white bread flour (again, I use King Arthur). 1 t instant yeast. 3 1/4 c. ice water (yes, ice water- instant yeast doesn't need warm water to activate). This will be a sticky wet dough. That's what you want. Let this rest for 10 minutes. Links to this post. They are the best!

Just like adding coffee to sugar.or milk to strawberry Nesquik. (Ooh, yeah. Remember the rabbit? Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies. Adapted from Kirbie's Cravings. 1 cup canned pumpkin. 3/4 cup white sugar. 1/4 cup of brown sugar. 1/2 cup vegetable oil. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. 1 teaspoon baking soda.
