Friday, March 9, 2012. What's the difference between granola and museli? The oil or butter is missing in muesli. I found out that muesli was developed long ago by a Swiss physician. Part of his patients' hospital stays included a diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables, and this is what he provided them for breakfast, served with orange juice instead of milk. Smart dude! Thursday, July 28, 2011. Happy 4th of July. Naval Base Guam hosted a Freedom Festival to celebrate this Grand Holiday. The event was kicked off with a parachute jumper (courtesy of Aaron's command) as the National Anthem was sung. This man with his water buffalo (or Carabao as they're called on Guam) and 2 dogs is kind of a celebrity here and he walked in the parade with the Carabao adorned in flowers. Welcome to Navy Blvd! A submarine replica one of the boats made and drove through the parade.

Friday, March 23, 2018. 80(ish)- - Carrot Cake Oatmeal. I'm relatively sure that I have never met a soul who doesn't like carrot cake. It's a classic comfort food. This oatmeal encompasses all that is delicious and healthy in a carrot cake. Carrots. Walnuts. Pineapple. Coconut. 1 cup steel cut oats. 1 large carrot, finely shredded. 1/4 cup finely shredded unsweetened coconut. 5 Tbsp crushed pineapple. 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts. 1/4 cup raisins (optional). 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon. That's half the fun!
