Monday, September 20, 2010. Stoneyridge Vineyard - Waiheke Island. With a storm the size of Australia upon us, I decided it would be a good idea to test my sea legs and venture out onto the roaring swells of the Waitemata Harbour. Plus we had Grabone $10 tickets to Waiheke which were about to expire so we weren't left much choice! The staff although young and casual were extremely helpful and friendly. However, I wasn't too sure about the "suggested" wine which was $45 a glass! Compared to our neighbours...

Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Tomato and Herb Lamb Shanks. It was a cold and wintery night and the slow cooker was feeling a bit neglected so we thought it might be a good idea to try making lamb shanks. We chose a really easy recipe:. 1 can diced tomatos. 1 cup beef stock. And of course the 4 lamb shanks. And in its one pot wonder - simply dice all the veg, throw that in with the shanks and the thyme and pasrley into the slow cooker and cook slowly. All day or overnight - and serve with mash.
