eat. play. laugh

Friday, February 18, 2011. Here's a quick idea for a birthday celebration. Our little guy made his Nanny a homemade card. His Mommy made some cupcakes. For the cupcakes I cut the letters of her name out of scrapbook paper, leaving one vertical twice as wide so it could be folded around the toothpick. Tack it down with a glue stick. Stick each toothpick in individual cupcakes and you're done! A personalized presentation goes a long way. Have you made a special someone a surprise treat lately? I know, I'm ...

eat. play. laugh: August 2010

http://eatplaylaughoften.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 30, 2010. Now that my little one is turning into a toddler, he is very interested in what his Dad and I are doing. That includes eating. That's right, he wants to try everything we have. As long as our food of choice is "safe" for him we have been letting him try it. At this point he has liked everything we have given him including homemade burrito bowls! They are very spicy and I let him lick the sauce off my finger.so happy! This kid is amazing! Start with fresh organic vegetables. Grab ...

Sunday, September 26, 2010. I love my little boy. Today my son celebrated his first birthday with his loving family and friends. One year ago I could not have imagined the happiness and truly unconditional love I would feel toward this little person. He makes me so proud. Proud of him for his warmth, curiosity, kindness and silliness. Proud of my husband and myself for nurturing him and teaching him to be his happy self. I love my little boy. Links to this post. eat. play. laugh: Love this rug!

http://eatplaylaughoften.blogspot.com/2010/09/love-this-rug.html

Thursday, September 9, 2010. Isn't this the coolest rug? I saw it on Design*Sponge. And fell in love instantly. It would look so great Kieran's room. The question is: White rug with orange numbers or white rug with chocolate brown numbers? It looks like the trick is to take the time to prime the rug before painting so the paint sticks properly to the rug. Hopefully I will get to Ikea. Soon to pick up a rug to try this with. Have you tried to paint a rug or something else out of the ordinary? Lotsa love, M.

Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Christmas is around the corner! Wow - I've gotten really lazy, haven't I? Life is great at the new job and this week has been slooooow mostly due to the fact that it's a holiday week and #2, I'm here by myself. We'll be heading to visit the inlaws for Christmas - I can't wait! This means we will FINALLY get to load up on some homemade, authentic tamales and squeeze in some family time. Welcoming Baby V: October 2009

http://valadezs.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 28, 2009. I can't believe it. J and I are almost at the 1 year mark of marriage. It went by so fast and it's hard to believe we were stressing about last minute details this time last year. Our first year has been so good and for those who say your first year is the most difficult, I hope it's true! If it were up to me, I would think the most difficult year of marriage would be when I carry my first child. I can't imagine myself being the happiest camper. Tuesday, October 6, 2009.

Thursday, December 2, 2010. 27 weeks and counting. It's Baby Cache and cherry wood - John picked out the snazziest stuff he could for our little one. The part that got me (I'm usually the cheapo) is that we can convert into a full size bed and can be used well into the kiddo's teenage years. To prepare for our guests, John and I decided to spice our house up a little - it's about time, we've only been here since 2004. The view from our Platinum Level seats. MAVS WIN! http://valadezs.blogspot.com/2010/11/its-been-while.html

Monday, November 1, 2010. It's been a while! I've been so wrapped up in work among other things that I haven't had a moment to update about Baby V. Baby is now 23 weeks, 1 day and I can finally feel the kicks, AKA flutters! It is the most amazing feeling and I can't wait for John to feel it. So far, we've been successful when he's put his hands on my belly or ear up to my belly to try and hear or feel baby. I know it's just a matter of time until he feels our little miracle! Eat Play LA

Friday, February 20, 2015. Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Thrifting - out of the closet. On my quest to find unique items for my place, I have decided to focus my decor primarily on thrifted and flea market finds. I popped in to my local Out of The Closet this weekend and scored these amazing finds. Pottery for my growing plant collection. Vintage suitcases as a secondary storage solution. Rad side table for the living room. Couch with simple, clean lines. 1 books to fill my shelves.

eat, play, laugh....& drink

Eat, play, laugh.& drink. Friday, 13 November 2015. My husband had the brilliant idea of taking the leftover apple grindings from our cider pressing, mix them with cracked corn, acorns, a mineral block, and other things that deer like to feed on. He assured me that hunters would buy it. I scoffed. And then bit my words when he sold out in less than an hour. What the heck is this? The squash came in a CSA basket that my boss subscribes to. It came from Salt of the Earth. It's a great soup squash. Goog...
