Roses and Elms: Potty
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2008/11/potty.html
Tuesday, November 18, 2008. This may fall into the too much information category but Olivia has officially started using the potty (for number 1 and 2)! Have I mentioned that she is 15 months old? I know saying this will jinx me now and she will be in diapers till she is 4 1/2. Ok so this picture has nothing to do with using the potty, but I thought it was cute. Roses and Elms: March 2008
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 29, 2008. I am at my wits end regarding the baby's sleeping. Hubby and I actually agreed that seeking professional help is an acceptable idea. Then by accident this morning something happened. I put baby in her crib to pick up a few things (putting on a new musical toy handed down by a friend - THANK YOU) and before i knew it - baby is sleeping. I am afraid to go and check. cross your fingers that this might lead to a new idea in family sleeping techniques! Monday, March 24, 2008.

Roses and Elms: The Crazy Lady
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2009/03/crazy-lady.html
Friday, March 13, 2009. This is just a rant. Seriously, a tripping hazard? I have been trying to think who would trip on one individual pebble (maybe 1/2 inch in diameter). I dont. Think I ever have and I dont. Imagine that Olivia would do so either. I guess the other thing that pissed me off is that she interrupted my conversation to say this. Can I not exchange two complete sentences to another adult without being interrupted? I get that enough from my kids. I dont. March 27, 2009 at 1:06 PM.

Roses and Elms: January 2008
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Breaking down to the pressure. So my wonderful hubby has been hounding me to start this blog. I told him that writing my thoughts down is not something that would come easily to me - it is more of a private journal kind of thing. Anyway when on earth do i have time? I am currently typing with one hand and nursing the baby with the other. i take pride in multi tasking but it is pretty ridiculous at times. i nursed and changed her at the same time the other night.

Roses and Elms: Finding Balance
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2009/03/finding-balance.html
Friday, March 6, 2009. I was thinking today that part of it also has to be that I am just. How do others find balance? Do you even ever do things you enjoy? I am curious how others make choices to simplify their lives and to find balance. Any suggestions? March 9, 2009 at 2:16 PM. Now Todd and I divide the weekend, so he can go out on Saturday nights and I can go out on Friday nights. We still don't get to go out together, but we're developing and strengthening our friend relationships, which are inc...

Roses and Elms: Post-Thanksgiving
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2008/12/post-thanksgiving.html
Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Aaron made a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner with a Carmel Chocolate Pecan Pie. Here is Emma "hugging" it. Other photos from the weekend. Olivia signing "Help" (hands on chest) and trying to play peek-a-boo (not quite grasping she is supposed to cover her eyes). Oh, and most importantly - I cut Emma's hair (she loves it - she thinks she looks like a teenager). Holy cremoly. I think she looks like a teenager, too. December 8, 2008 at 7:04 AM. Roses and Elms: Things I will miss
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2009/03/things-i-will-miss.html
Friday, March 6, 2009. Things I will miss. I wanted to make a list of things that the girls say and do that I will miss if and when they grow out of these things:. Saying "pachitos" for chetos. Saying "more better" rather than just saying "better" (we think it is so cute that we dont correct her). Saying "mommy-daddy" "daddy-mommy" (like we are interchangable). Saying "I'm not tired" and then rolling over and going to sleep immediately. Calling her blanket a "night night". Calling a cat a "meow". Wanting...

Roses and Elms: October 2008
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2008. I was looking at some old pictures yesterday of Emma as a baby (not too much older than Olivia is now). What a cutie! Monday, October 27, 2008. Ok, so for a while we have been trying to get Emma involved with something. Swimming? 6 years later I am dealing with her again. I CANNOT go back to this group. I am desperately trying to find another option, but am having a heck of a time. Of course Emma has asked every day when she can go back. Ug. Wednesday, October 22, 2008. It wa...

Roses and Elms: Date Night!
http://rosesandelms.blogspot.com/2008/11/date-night.html
Tuesday, November 18, 2008. So, after 6 1/2 years of parenting Aaron and I decided that we need to make getting out without the kids a priority. This past weekend was the second time we went out. We decided to go to a real grown up restaurant that was not child friendly. We went to Mrs. K's Toll House in Silver Spring (we drive by it all the time and have always been curious about it). Dinner afterwards was fantastic! Delicious and romantic. It was just refreshing to get out and have an adult evening!
