A Midlife Vegan+: July 2015
http://midlifevegan.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
50-Something and Vegan : Same Life, Only Better! My Chronic Illness: What's Next. Friday, July 31, 2015. This first photo is sort of an artsy shot through the funky spindles of the lower terrace of our villa. The Westin complex and it's dock in Great Cruz Bay is below. We rent a dinghy from the Westin each year so we can check out isolated beaches and coves which have no other access. Back to the villa - sometimes it really was too hot to hang outside, but look at the view from my bed! Finally, my week i...

A Midlife Vegan+: Ay! Desnudos!
http://midlifevegan.blogspot.com/2010/07/ay-desnudos.html
50-Something and Vegan : Same Life, Only Better! My Chronic Illness: What's Next. Friday, July 30, 2010. These words slipped out of my mouth in a whisper this morning as I was checking my garden and noticed this tomato plant with hardly a leaf on the vine. So back to the tomatoes: after reeling from the initial shock of what can happen in one day to a tomato plant, I quickly found the culprit. I thought. If I toss the whole thing in the woods, how long will it take Heimlich to find my garden again? Specu...

the giraffe life: My Maternity Wardrobe
http://thegiraffelife.blogspot.com/2015/08/my-maternity-wardrobe.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. Most of my maternity wardrobe. One thing I've really struggled with this pregnancy is getting dressed! Sounds silly, right? It's tough to find blog posts about how much maternity clothing you'll actually need because it's so personal. What one person considers appropriate work attire or "enough" doesn't always match your situation. So I figured I'd throw my experience out there :). Here's what I've bought and my thoughts! Affiliate - these companies don't even know I exist! 1 pre...

the giraffe life: Homemade Vegetarian Hamburger Helper
http://thegiraffelife.blogspot.com/2013/07/homemade-vegetarian-hamburger-helper.html
Monday, July 29, 2013. Homemade Vegetarian Hamburger Helper. When I first moved out on my own, I had plenty of cooking experience with rice, pasta, vegetables, and cookies. But cooking meat? The best I could do was microwave sausage links or heat up chicken nuggets in my toaster oven. I've never liked the look or feel of raw meat (especially anything with a bone or a shell, because it reminded me that whatever I was holding used. To be alive). So I just avoided it. the giraffe life: Gender Predictions from Old Wives' Tales
http://thegiraffelife.blogspot.com/2015/07/gender-predictions-from-old-wives-tales.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. Gender Predictions from Old Wives' Tales. Mr G and I aren't finding out early if our baby is a boy or a girl - we're happy to wait until the baby is born. Of course I've heard a lot of predictions (adamant predictions! So I thought I'd go through some old wives' tales for fun. Nausea = girl, little/no nausea = boy. For me: on/off nausea depending on the day = girl. A chart matching your age and month of conception. Over 140 bpm = girl, under 140 bpm = boy. Monday, July 13, 2015.

A Midlife Vegan+: A Tale of Two Turkeys
http://midlifevegan.blogspot.com/2011/03/tale-of-two-turkeys.html
50-Something and Vegan : Same Life, Only Better! My Chronic Illness: What's Next. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. A Tale of Two Turkeys. You know how it feels when you find a $20 in the pocket of a jacket you haven't worn in 6 months? Yeah, that's what it felt like! I moved Eziekiel to the fridge and went out on my errands. Why am I telling you this? So back to lunch - I lazily microwaved an Amy's Black Bean Burrito, with some Spinach and Daiya on the side, and it was great, but I was still hungy for sweets!
