The Edisto Island Historic Preservation Society has donated our slave cabin from the Point of Pines Plantation to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, which will open on Washington’s National Mall in 2015. The cabin as it looked before the dismantling began on May 13, 2013. We did some shoring up of the structure 2-3 years ago to prevent further deterioration.
