Nico and Amy's Literary Kitchen. Baking away our PhDs. At an Early Modern Banquet: Marchpane in Romeo and Juliet (c. 1595). August 18, 2015. August 19, 2015. There is something distinctly Dionysian about the ball and, when reading Lord Capulet’s warm-hearted welcomes and his brief exchange with his older cousin about their long-gone dancing days, I am always reminded of the grey-headed Cadmus and Tiresias, dancing, fawn-skinned, in Euripides’. However, the unforeseen and unexpected workings of love are c...

A pretty good time. A philosophy in progress. May 24, 2014. My heart started racing, not the bad kind of heart racing, like, I’m going to die. But the good kind of heart racing, like, ‘Hello, can I help you with something? If not, please step aside because I’m about to kick the shit out of life.’ from. Where’d You Go Bernadette? March 25, 2014. There is a quote by Yogi Bhajan that helps me remember this concept:. Happy and unhappy belong to your mind, not to the world. Special thanks to Pastrami Basket.

Happy New Year | a pretty good time
https://aprettygoodtime.wordpress.com/2014/01/01/happy-new-year
A pretty good time. A philosophy in progress. January 1, 2014. Daphne goes for my sparkling cranberry juice. 1 Expectations lead to disappointment. Not too shabby. Allowing ourselves to let go of expectations allows release from suffering/disappointment. This in turn allows us to enjoy whatever is happening to us right in each moment, instead of waiting for something that we expect to happen in the future. In 2014, I’m going to focus less on planning and more on living. 2 Do what you want, when you can.
