I'm dok: Penrose Box
http://imdokblog.mikearef.com/2011/10/penrose-box.html
Saturday, October 8, 2011. Once we think outside the box, aren't we just inside a larger box? Once the ideas of one box leap outside, might we not be in another box? This week I attended the Illinois Transdisciplinary Obesity Prevention Program's (I-TOPP) Inaugural Biennial Symposium. Not according to Dr. Molly Bray. The next invited speaker, Dr. Madeleine Sigman-Grant, discussed the development of the All 4 Kids Program. I don't deal with preschoolers in a professional capacity nor am I planning any com...

Saturday, December 26, 2009. How To Eyeball A Patient. As you walk into the room is the patient appear sick or not sick? Does the patient oxygenate and perfuse? What are the specific numbers, how was it assessed, and does it correlate with the picture above? Find abnormalities. That's really what you are paid for. Some people always have high creatinine or low hemoglobin or whatever, so don't focus on the population mean abnormalities, focus on the patient's abnormalities. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

I'm dok: July 2012
http://imdokblog.mikearef.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 11, 2012. I have an admission for you: I don't know what to do with this patient. I will be the first to admit that emergency departments are overloaded and their docs work very hard. But sometimes as a hospitalist getting slammed with his tenth admission in the last hour it seems like the ED has a handful of diagnoses, nay excuses, for getting the patient into the hospital rather than back on the street:. CHF-U - Any patient with an elevated BNP has decompensated heart failure, regardles...

http://www.mimir.info/home/protocols/m-aref-gas-anesthesia-protocol
IU School of Medicine Profile. M Aref Gas Anesthesia Protocol. Neither halothane nor metofane are very good for young researchers (nor old ones for that matter) being hepatotoxic and teratogenic. Metofane can also sting your eyes and burn your skin. So be careful! Do not take undue risks and try to reduce exposure as much as possible. Make sure air tank is properly attached to back of machine by green hose. Use bell jar and one capful of metofane on Kim wipes (cover to prevent metofane from getting on an...

IU School of Medicine Profile. Ultra-High-Field Relaxation and Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Measurements of Mouse Glioma Model. This project seeks to characterize longitudinal relaxation times (T. And apparent diffusion coefficients (ADC) at ultra-high magentic field strength of both healthy and cancer bearing mouse brains with correlation to histology, specifically white and grey matter. By better understanding T.
