The Selvage Edge: July 2014
http://theselvageedge.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 31, 2014. The Farm at Walnut Creek. As you have probably noticed from previous posts, we LOVE Rolling Ridge Animal Park. It's a place in Millersburg, owned by an Amish family, where you can take a wagon ride through their wooded property and come face to face with hundreds of animals who are just waiting to be hand fed. A while back, a friend of mine put out a Facebook comment asking for feedback on Rolling Ridge and a few other animal parks. One of those was The Farm at Walnut Creek.

The Selvage Edge: August 2014
http://theselvageedge.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 28, 2014. Earlier this week I was commenting on my friend Kathy's blog. Samaritan Hospital, here we come for our kids' first ever emergency room visit. Dripping blood makes everything look far worse than it really is. Ellie had stopped crying by the time we got to the car. She was busy chatting up the triage nurse, who let her pick out a hospital bear (she picked a cow print one) and then gave her a bonus dig through a closet full of donated dolls dressed in hospital gowns. I got to do m...

Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Cute Chicks and Darling Ducklings. Finally, a break in the weather, and a coordination of schedules allowed us to take a quick trip to Aunt Sandy's house. Last week she bought a dozen chicks and four ducks to start her own little egg farm. My kids were beyond excited to visit, and to play with the babies. Right now the chicks and ducklings are staying in her guest room,. Waiting for warmer weather to come and their coop to get finished. We got in a nice visit with Grandma.

The Selvage Edge: April 2014
http://theselvageedge.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Happy Birthday, Mom! My mother had her 80th birthday on April 4th, and our family gathered to celebrate. We surprised her with a visit from my sister Pam, and her family, who came in from Washington. We had a friend invite her to her favorite restaurant, Bob Evans, where the rest of us laid in wait. It was a joyous reunion and a wonderful day. Seventeen of her friends from the Y came, and with other friends and family, we had 37 people gathered. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sister...

The Selvage Edge: July 2015
http://theselvageedge.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 10, 2015. This week we had some lovely celebrations for Independence Day. Ashland held its 25th annual Balloon Fest, and we went to the Balloon Glow on Friday Evening. Only 10 of the 25 balloons were out that evening due to some wind issues, but still it was fun to watch them glowing and flickering on and off to the beat of the music. On Sunday evening, we wrapped up our Independence celebration by attending the Pops in the Park concert at the Bandshell. I didn't take any pictures, but i...

The Selvage Edge: November 2013
http://theselvageedge.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 28, 2013. We enjoyed two Thanksgiving gatherings this year. Sunday, we went to my sister Sandy's house, and then today we visited with Tom's parents. Tom was a good sport about attending the gathering at Sandy's. He brought a book and found a corner. Sandy's dogs spent much of the afternoon on the outside looking in. Dolefully. Tommy with Grandma Lux. Rachel smashing the potatoes. Johnny and Ellie spent a lot of time together. Upside-down time is Ellie's favorite. And here's a fun less...
