http://marscat.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2008. While the presenter and the organizer and the guy from the front row. Fiddle with the projector,. A big woman in a small metal chair. Holds a slice of pizza. It hangs limp and sweaty. Like a tired dog's tongue. Lodged on her chest. Rides the wave of her contented. I am pretty certain. She'll be the first to bolt. Once the pizza's eaten. I am putting on my best show. Loading up my paper pad balanced on my knees. With chunks of wisdom, sage cutlets. It will not clap. There is only...

Marscat: surviving kidney failure
http://marscat.blogspot.com/2009/07/surviving-kidney-failure.html
Tuesday, July 07, 2009. I was seated in conference room 200 along with about sixty other employees, listening to the directors explain why they needed to lay off 27 people on Monday. Fortunately, I was not one of them. More workers showed up at the entrance to the room and were spilling out into the hallway. The CIO waved for them to come in and take the few still empty seats up front. I promise you won't be laid off if you sit in the front row," he laughed. What on earth does that mean, I asked myself?

Marscat: November 2011
http://marscat.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 15, 2011. After dinner last Wednesday evening. I walked over to Sproul. So I was sitting there at the Occupy Cal demonstration, nodding. Hall She started mentioning the Sixties, but I didn't know if she was mentioning them from personal experience or just as a historical perspective, like how I might talk about the Russian Revolution although I've not personally. Were you here at Sproul. Protesting in the Sixties. And then because we were close to being the oldest, poorest dressers at t...

Winking Into The Void: July 2008
http://winkingintothevoid.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Winking Into The Void. Saturday, July 12, 2008. Have you noticed that we all say "actually" way too much? I wouldn't go so far as to say the word is content-free, but it's almost always extraneous. it's actually a little cruel to point this out because once you are made aware of it, it becomes horribly distracting. where did this come from? Why do we all do it? And why did me and a close friend independently discover this a week apart? Are we getting worse? Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Winking Into The Void: July 2009
http://winkingintothevoid.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Winking Into The Void. Sunday, July 5, 2009. Rhode Island: not actually Rhode Island. NPR broke the news to me today that the real name of the state is Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. i had my 50 states and capitals memorized by the time i was eight (and was a rather proud little brat about it), and it took until i was 34 to learn this fact? I'm left wondering what other knowledge i feel secure in but have wrong. nobody thought to mention this? Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

not martha — tiny gingerbread houses, a few variations
http://www.notmartha.org/archives/2009/12/22/tiny-gingerbread-houses-a-few-variations
Archive and categories and search. Links to some favorite sites. About me and all this. Larr; a tiny gingerbread house that perches on the edge of your mug. Tiny gingerbread houses, a few variations. Earlier I made gingerbread houses meant to perch on the edge of a mug. But I wanted to work on a few more things. Second, I added a chimney. I rolled out some gingerbread dough a bit thicker and cut out a square-ish shape, using the house template to get the correct angle. Middot; comments [116]. Dec 22, 200...

Funny how I mention that the SLO riding is world class, much like where I grew up and into cycling - Sonoma County. The SLO camp was (is? And stuffing yet not too close to clash with Judeo-Christian Capitalist birthday traditions. . I also blogged after the ride about traditions. Days of long, slow, gorgeous ridi...
