http://freedivingbenny.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 1, 2008. And the crowd goes wild. 'ish. It's that sort of attitude in Australia that holding breath = death that really stifles any media attention. Do I sound bitter enough yet? Mum: Are you worried that something will go wrong and you'll die Ben? Ben: Ummm, errrr. no mum, i'm not going to die. Mum: It's a very dangerous sport isn't it Ben? Ben: ummmm. well. not really if you have proper safety in place which we alwa. Mum: But haven't some people died? Ben: ah. ( sweating. These are spre...

Benny's Freediving Adventures: Freedive for Charity
http://freedivingbenny.blogspot.com/2008/04/freedive-for-charity.html
Sunday, April 13, 2008. At the moment I work at Geek Squad. And a while back the guys were throwing around ideas of how they could raise some money for their chosen charity, Children With Leukaemia. Children with Leukaemia is a fantastic endeavour that helps fight the fight for people who haven't yet had a chance to live their lives. They fund research and welfare programs as well as raising awareness of the disease that affects around 500 kids a year in the UK. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Under ...

Benny's Freediving Adventures: On the horizon...
http://freedivingbenny.blogspot.com/2008/04/on-horizon.html
Sunday, April 13, 2008. There's a few things in the pipeline that will keep me very busy over the next few months up to the end of July. On May 3 i'm doing a charity Constant Weight dive (more on that in another post) down at Chepstow, then the following weekend there's the The Great Camberwell Breath Hold. This is a static, dynamic and dynamic no-fins comp at a really nice 25m pool. It's a bit old and shabby looking but it has tons of character and has a cool Victorian feel to it. Just before this cours...

Anna von Boetticher: Ooops...
http://annavonboetticher.blogspot.com/2014/08/ooops.html
Saturday, 9 August 2014. It's impossible to look cute with one of those on! This was a first for me, I can tell you! The surprise was as big as the instant frustration. Interestingly for those that have not (I don't recommend it! At least I get to work on my tan for a couple of days before flying home early, coach cannot complain or tell me to eat more! Meanwhile, it looks like I'll be stuck with pool disciplines for a couple of months - oh no! I wonder if tequila is helpful for statics? Under water, whe...

Daan Verhoeven: April 2013
http://daanverhoeven.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Freediver, photographer, phaticister. Saturday, April 27, 2013. Peter B does London. I don't want to brag -but i'm gonna. I have some of the most extraordinary friends: philosophers, gardeners, world champions, DJ's, builders, bee keepers and rock stars. One such rock star, Swedish tallest a cappella singer Peter B, came to visit, and we had the kind of debauched week you'd expect from such a tour, which was entirely Freudian. He was here to enjoy the season, but screw springtime. Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Daan Verhoeven: and that language is 'poes'
http://daanverhoeven.blogspot.com/2013/03/and-that-language-is-poes.html
Freediver, photographer, phaticister. Sunday, March 31, 2013. And that language is 'poes'. A couple of lines from different periods come together in this picture. You are sweet, papa, you have to stay alive.". The translation of that whole piece is this:. That cat there,. That animal there,. Look over there,. I want to talk. I have already learned to talk. I want to keep talking,. I talk like I want to. Back to 2002: after my father died in 2001 we found this collection of dear words on his desk, and we ...

Daan Verhoeven: December 2012
http://daanverhoeven.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Freediver, photographer, phaticister. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Golden grace, brown disgrace. Meet Livy -rarely has a dog been more graceful. Rarely has a dog made more beautiful daughters. Who haven't yet figured out the trick of making puppies themselves. And top that of by both totally defecating all over the scenery. Friday, December 14, 2012. Frost -still water, just harder. And smaller. It was near the end of the day, and though i was surrounded by monuments. My attention was drawn down.

Daan Verhoeven: January 2013
http://daanverhoeven.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Freediver, photographer, phaticister. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Snake on the steps. We had an interesting guest at the house this morning. He (or she -it's rude to check) was about to come to the door when we walked out. But got shy once she (or he -still rude) figured out the house wasn't inhabited by fellow members of the serpentine brotherhood (or sisterhood -it's rude to check that as well) -but not too shy for a quick portrait. It wasn't till she/he (snakes hiss, do female ones hers? And the whole ...
