Through the Looking Glass: April 2015
http://kara-throughthelookingglass.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Through the Looking Glass. Thursday, 16 April 2015. Last night a friend sent me a link to a book about manipulative parents. Unfortunately, at the moment this book is only available in French (though I saw on Amazon that an English and Spanish translation might be available this September). The write up that my friend sent, had this phrase:. That is the definition of my parents, simply put. Link:http:/ www.editions-homme.com/ficheDroits.aspx? Monday, 6 April 2015. That reaches down and suddenly lifts you,.

Through the Looking Glass: November 2014
http://kara-throughthelookingglass.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Through the Looking Glass. Thursday, 20 November 2014. When I dug a bit deeper, I realised that this was a learned behaviour, a flea from my FOO. They want their lives to look like a Still Life painting because that's what they live for: a "perfect" picture of themselves. Except that that only remains the same in the painting, the fruit the painter captured went on to rot eventually. In Spanish, the term for 'Still Life' is 'Dead Nature'. I wouldn't have put it better myself. Friday, 14 November 2014.

Through the Looking Glass: June 2014
http://kara-throughthelookingglass.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Through the Looking Glass. Monday, 23 June 2014. What I Found in the Gift Shop. Saturday, 14 June 2014. Notes on Jane Eyre. While I was away, I took the book "Jane Eyre" with me. Re-reading under the "lens" of what I now know on Narcissism was like reading a different book completely. I cried throughout the first few chapters because the feelings of Jane echoed so much of how I used to feel in my dealings with my FOO. Why was I always suffering, always browbeaten, always accused, for ever condemned?

Reflections on Broken Glass: 2011-06-19
http://reflectionsonbrokenglass.blogspot.com/2011_06_19_archive.html
Reflections on Broken Glass. Part romance novel, part survival guide, this is also the story of a spiritual quest, with a smidgen of politics thrown in. Friday, June 24, 2011. Finally, glorious summer has arrived here and we start having fun again. Chuck sometimes brings me bouquets of wild flowers. On hot days we sit in the creek together. We have a bonfire almost every night. We hike in the woods. We play Scrabble and Cribbage. I'm very happy. Sometimes we would ride to the edges of the property, in hi...

Reflections on Broken Glass: Chapter 6

Reflections on Broken Glass. Part romance novel, part survival guide, this is also the story of a spiritual quest, with a smidgen of politics thrown in. Friday, July 15, 2011. I got to thinking about how I was going to cook with just a microwave, barbecue, toaster and crock pot. I wanted something a little more eco-friendly. So I did some research online and found myself a solar oven. That would be the perfect solution for my new, off-grid lifestyle. In a way you sent me up some Health "Insurance"! Oh, y...

Then I became very enamored of Bernie when he showed me the cutting board he had installed for me under the counter. He later showed me a photo album he always had with him that had pictures of a house he had built himself some years prior, with Chuck's help. It was quite spectacular. While we were shopping we passed the restaurant...

Through the Looking Glass: "To Be or Not to Be?" Is NOT the Question
http://kara-throughthelookingglass.blogspot.com/2015/01/to-be-or-not-to-be-is-not-question.html
Through the Looking Glass. Saturday, 3 January 2015. To Be or Not to Be? Is NOT the Question. A few months ago, I came across the famous Hamlet soliloquy. I've always had that ubiquitous mental image of Hamlet holding a skull and asking: "To be or not to be? Its meaning in a way that went down to the essence of my bones. After Judy's comment on the previous post, I realise that the question is not whether "To be or not to be? But rather how to be? 3 January 2015 at 23:55. 4 January 2015 at 16:39. That is...

Through the Looking Glass: "Thy truth, then, be thy dower."
http://kara-throughthelookingglass.blogspot.com/2014/11/thy-truth-then-be-thy-dower.html
Through the Looking Glass. Friday, 14 November 2014. Thy truth, then, be thy dower.". I don't know how it has escaped me for so long. but I digress. In the first scene, Plummer relates, King Lear tells his daughters he is going to divide the kingdom in three parts: "the portion each daughter will get depends on how eloquently they say they love him.". Tell me, my daughters,—. Since now we will divest us both of rule,. Interest of territory, cares of state,—. Which of you shall we say doth love us most?
