The Ewton Marriage Project |: Day 1,617 | NICU Reunion
http://ewton.blogspot.com/2014/04/day-1617-nicu-reunion.html
Saturday, April 26, 2014. Day 1,617 NICU Reunion. We looked forward to the NICU reunion ever since we found out about it a few months ago- and it was better than we had imagined! It was soooo wonderful to see some of Joanna's heroes again- and for them to see her! Everyone adored Joanna's glasses, and were happy to see how big she's gotten- remember she was discharged at 7 pounds and 5 months old. One of Joanna's neonatologists, the one that was on rotation at Joanna's NICU when we met Joanna:. Joanna's ...

The Ewton Marriage Project |: Day 1,480 | Reflecting Back: What It Was Like To Be A Stay At Home Mom
http://ewton.blogspot.com/2013/12/day-1480-reflecting-back-what-it-was.html
Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Day 1,480 Reflecting Back: What It Was Like To Be A Stay At Home Mom. A few days after bringing Joanna home, she turned 5 months old, so I commemorated that day by taking some 5 month portraits of her, of which the above was my favorite. What does this have to do with being a stay at home mom? Our adoption of Joanna was finalized while I was a stay at home mom, and I am so grateful for how smooth that day went. Before returning to work full time, I was able to take Joanna to o...

Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Day 1,361 Joanna Grace- Adoption Story. If you're surprised, just think how surprised we are! We are adopting a little girl, Joanna Grace. She is African American, and is already 4 months old and is a little over 5 pounds. When she was born she weighed 1 pound 6 ounces! Because of how premature she was, she has already had a surgery to fix a hernia, and will likely need an eye surgery in the future. Please be in prayer for her continued growth, health, and development. Day 1,416...

Monday, February 24, 2014. Day 1,555 Life Goes On. Life has been pretty busy for us since I returned to work in November, so I apologize that I am not posting frequently! Since the last blog post, we have received an appointment from Joanna's surgeon for removing the g-button, so the countdown is on- March 28! Once we got that date confirmed, then of course, I begin to freak out about the g-button coming out, what if she backslides? What if she stops gaining? Should we feed her more? I think this was the...

Monday, August 19, 2013. Day 1,367 Joanna is a Micro-Preemie. Last week was quite a roller coaster! We managed to find our way through the maze of parking garages and the large hospital and found the NICU, and after presenting our drivers licenses we were escorted back to Joanna. Seeing her for the first time, she was all swaddled up, and in a swing. She looked so adorable, yet so tiny! Please continue to lift up Joanna in your prayers, and us as well- it has been exciting and scary to become her parents...

The Ewton Marriage Project |: Day 1,410 | Joanna's Journey Home (Part 3)
http://ewton.blogspot.com/2013/10/day-1410-joannas-journey-home-part-3.html
Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Day 1,410 Joanna's Journey Home (Part 3). Sorry for the delay! Life has been a little busy lately! We ate lunch, and continued to wait. Joanna was still not eating more than about 30 mls at a time from a bottle, and I was anxious about it all, as before the 4 month vaccines she was consistently taking well above her 65 ml minimum at each feeding, usually taking between 80-105 mls by bottle. I'm so looking forward to being able to truly call her our daughter, and for the adoption...
