as a leaf | The Melody Of Words

The Melody Of Words. October 17, 2012. There’s a heart lost upon. The winds of life. Floating er’where with. Never settling nor to linger. In the scent of strife. As is destined to never. Become more than a stray. For if home is where. Then this welcome matt. To be found is the hardest. But when our eyes rested. So did this nomad heart. In this land of love. Beating with each word spoken. In hope of forever. That this Angel may stay to. This heart lost to the winds. This entry was posted in Love.

It was fantastic to share that with him, and he did great for not ever running! So here are some snipits from the last few months…. 8211; I don’t have to be perfect. Having my sister come and visit for a weekend is a ton of fun!

Stickered Books: December 2010
http://stickeredbooks.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
90 great books. One crazy year. Thursday, December 16, 2010. 1968: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E. L. Konigsburg. I wanted to start with From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. For many reasons: 1. Out of the four Newbery medalists I read as a child, this is probably the one I loved the most. 2 Though I loved it so much, I barely remembered it and have long wanted to reread it. 8212;but the reasons don’t really matter, anyway. They sleep in a state bed, keep their...

http://stickeredbooks.blogspot.com/2011/01/newbery-news.html
90 great books. One crazy year. Sunday, January 23, 2011. Sorry for my silence! I set some new goals for my own writing, and have had little time to write anything else. I’ll have my next review up very soon— Holes. In the meantime, there’s been plenty of Newbery-related news in the past couple weeks, so I’ll give you the highlights here. First of all, I’ve discovered yet another blogger who’s reading all the Newbery medalists, so I’ll add her to my list on the right. You can find her at Newbery Quest.

90 great books. One crazy year. Sunday, January 9, 2011. 1986: Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan. Sarah, Plain and Tall. I remember seeing this book everywhere when I was a kid, but for some reason I never read it. Or maybe I did, and totally forgot; it’s very possible! So, now is the time. It’s a slim book and quick read, and I ended up reading it twice—so much is told in so few words that I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss any details. A gang plow with horses. It’s a beautiful story f...

Stickered Books: January 2011
http://stickeredbooks.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
90 great books. One crazy year. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. 1999: Holes by Louis Sachar. In a college YA literature class, and since then it’s been one of my favorite books ever. I probably should have saved it for later this year in case I hit a slump and needed a book I knew I liked, but I just couldn’t wait! It was calling to me. Is the story of Stanley Yelnats, an overweight boy in Texas convicted of a crime he didn’t commit and sent to Camp Green Lake for 18 months of discipline. We learn about Elya&...
