Martes, 26 de agosto de 2008. 168; then, ¨When did he die? 168; and right into ¨I think it might rain today.¨. Lunes, 18 de agosto de 2008. My parents were here all week, and they just left this weekend. What a joy it was to have them here, and to be able to share all my experiences with them, and what I´ve been experiencing for the past year.

Viernes, 16 de octubre de 2009. 168;Si se puede, si se puede, si se puede.¨ That´s what the Hondurans chant to cheer on their soccer team every time they play a game. ¨Yes we can, yes we can! There was a chance still! The US could still do it! Had they really scored a goal in the last few minutes of the game? Since 1982, Honduras is going to the World Cup!

The opinions expressed and experiences described in this blog are mine personally. They are in no way offiliated or endorsed by the US government. Jueves, 4 de febrero de 2010. When the time finally came, I was completely ready and excited to move on to the next segment of my life. I even began to get annoyed by my friends in my town, who all began asking me to leave them all my possessions with them, and more and more excited to see my family. Much love - so glad you are home - Aunt ME. A number of peop...

Mom, I´m surprised you haven´t called yet! Martes, 19 de mayo de 2009. I was just reading and old blog I had put up about unwanted attention, and was reminded of a funny incident that happened recently in my town. A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. English class project completed, memories made. Some of my III Ciclo comun kids). About 8 months ago, Drew and I were asked to teach English classes in a nearby pueblo called San Juancito. We had worked at the high school before doing project citizen, and I had always wanted to see if I could teach ESL and saw it as an opportunity to learn, teach the kids about my culture, and have as a major project my last few months. May 17, 20...
Executive Hippie: An odd story to happen this close to the end of service.
http://executivehippie.blogspot.com/2009/08/odd-story-to-happen-this-close-to-end.html
A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Wednesday, August 12, 2009. An odd story to happen this close to the end of service. I helped someone today. It cost me $5. I neither taught a man to fish nor gave him a fish, but rather, I bought him a fishing pole. I suppose the cause was worthy of my $5, but I'm still struck by doing what I did. Farmer from the 40’s, and khakis that look ironed, but stained more times than I can immediately count. I forget about the conversation for the most part. Tue...

A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Monday, December 15, 2008. A study on international relations. 160; . During the presidential primaries (I know everyone is trying to forget them, sorry for bringing them up, but I’m using this story to jump into another one actually worth hearing about) and the debates on foreign policy, I remember hearing too often about sticks and carrots. Sticks, I assume, represented . What is the most stubborn animal you can think of? Even move at all? Now, w...

A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Friday, August 22, 2008. Time to break out of my routine. The majority of my days here are quite productive, but I've found that since I usually have work, I've stopped doing new things. I live here like I would live anywhere else. What a wasted opportunity. Nearly a year later my thirst for adventure finally returned. Alice: You should shower before you come to the office. Drew: I think I am going to take the morning off. You stink, you need to shower.

A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. So, to take a bus to the capital, I have to get off about 50 feet from the spot, walk to the other side, and take another bus. They won´t let them pass until they figure out what to do. Friday, October 3, 2008. 8220;Good morning” Yeah, I’m nervous, but at least I assigned the right gender to morning, should be all downhill from here. I continue on and tell people that we are Peace Corps volunteers in Valle de Angeles and we have a ...

A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Saturday, September 26, 2009. Alice and I flew in last night on the first flight that left Honduras since Monday. Any other airline and we'd still be sitting in a hotel in Teg. Thanks Continental airlines for getting me home. We can be contacted through our parents, or email (drew.gillispie@gmail.com). I plan on wrapping this blog up in some way, so this isn't the last entry you will ever see, but I wanted everyone to know that were home safely. February 17,...

A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Well, all updates as promised. All shall be well, and I don't question I'll be able to make it back to Honduras within my time limit. Sunday, February 15, 2009. I'm not sure anyone reads this who isn't in my imediate contact loop, and judging from the overwhelming response to my previous 4 posts, I'm guessing no one wanted to read 20 pages of babble. I'll keep it short. Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Before dinner we all crowded ...
Executive Hippie: Three week staycation!
http://executivehippie.blogspot.com/2009/07/three-week-staycation.html
A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Friday, July 24, 2009. There is a bit of a crisis going on in the country right now and I still can't really talk about it. Fortunately, I can still explain my work and the like. The good news is that things are getting closer to normal. The three official days were Monday to Wednesday of this week, and some schools went ahead and had class yesterday too, though not all teachers or students showed up. This is soooooooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous wedding jackets.

the story of our lives | telling the story god is writing for my family
The story of our lives. Telling the story god is writing for my family. Are you thinking about it? Back to school thoughts. Our first day of school at the Wood Academy is now history and changes are underway. A lot of new changes are underway. SOMEONE’S GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. It’s not Thomas. It’s not Mae. It’s not Kate. Elizabeth Claret: Freedom of Nudity
Elizabeth Claret: Freedom of Nudity. Friday, January 15, 2010. Saturday, August 1, 2009. These works are from last weekend. I'm pretty pleased with them, I'm still hearing a lot of "I don't like the lighting" from critiques, but I think they're great. Maybe I'm a bit biased. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. This is a more recent favorite. I've been told the lighting is bad,. But I love the pose, and how I look. This was the most fun I've ever had at a shoot. I will have it canvas printed and hung on my wall.
