Elizabeth Creates: November 2012

Art, Garden and Life. Friday, November 30, 2012. Despite what you may be thinking , I am not trying to felt cobwebs from my stairwells, although the supplies are available! I am taking on a new felting technique that results in sheer wool felted fabric that resembles the airy-ness and looseness of a cobweb. I found a wonderful technique video on Youtube- don't you just love Youtube for techniques? Anyway the video was about Cobweb felting and it was done by Carolyn Greenwood of Greenwood Fiber Works.

Art, Garden and Life. Saturday, April 6, 2013. This, That and a Sprinkle of Something Else. By working from very small to quite large one can achieve the undulating spiral shape. Although it looks a bit complex it is actually quite simple once you get going. These next two pieces are now for sale at Artful Dimensions Gallery. This bracelet is titled Cherry Blossom Fizz. And last but not least, for this post anyway is a newly collaged ,wet felted scarf made with various bits of silk ,wool and mohair curls...

MainStreetMagpie: thoughts
http://mainstreetmagpie.blogspot.com/2010/07/thoughts.html
Collector of all things shiny. Thursday, July 8, 2010. No pictures today, I need to find my card reader. I was thinking about the baby quilt that I just finished and is now hanging on the back of a chair waiting to be gifted. It looked really awful as I was pushing and shoving it around the needle to quilt it. Now it looks beautiful. I love the soft shades of browns, the wrinkles and the poofies. What has changed? Not the quilt. Is it because I'm not looking so closely? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
MainStreetMagpie: June 2010
http://mainstreetmagpie.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Collector of all things shiny. Thursday, June 24, 2010. It's quilted and bound. just have to check for loose threads and it's done! Look out Harriet Hargrave, here I come! Maybe in another 50 years or so. The fabrics are organically grown and not dyed, the top quilting thread is organic. I used a conventional backing and bobbin thread because all I had left of the organic fabric was the plain off white. My machine quilting is not up for that yet. Links to this post. Collector of all things shiny. Wednesday, October 20, 2010. My current project, started in July. the letters were not staying stuck, so I finally decided to stitch them in place. I didn't want the texture of stitching, so I will have to figure out how to cover that up. Just an added challenge and an opportunity to play even more! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). God's Word in Everyday Life. Never Going Back to Perfect. This is Part 4 of a 4-part series on Opening Toward God: our part in letting God work. Go here to read the intro. And find links to the additional posts. You’d better get used to it! Those words shook my perfection-seeking soul down to its core. That day God began to wrestle perfectionism and legalism out of my heart. Because we are all living, moving beings in individual relationships with him. There are black and white commands from God.
