http://jinandemily.blogspot.com/2012/05/ew-finals.html
Life as a Lee. Sharing our adventures with you! Sunday, May 6, 2012. So in an effort to blog more I thought I would share this quote from a book that, of course, I am just beginning to read the night before my final. This quote is from a book on the spirituality of Jesus and specifically from a chapter on evangelism,. From The Spirituality of Jesus. By Leslie T. Hardin pp. 166). May 7, 2012 at 12:45 AM. I agree. Gnosticism sucks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Evangelism and Fear of the Other.

But now is not the time: Falling Through Life
http://ahava516.blogspot.com/2009/11/falling-through-life.html
Tuesday, November 3, 2009. In short, I never liked Fall, because Fall brought Winter. And to someone who studied literature, even as briefly as my collegiate career can attest, it is hard to disassociate Winter from death. The leaves fall, the grass withers, and where the breeze brought relief, it now brings a soul-searing chill. The world loses all colour during the Winter, and what is Fall but Winter's prelude? It is a sobering beauty, a beauty as grand as it is sorrowful. The world knows, in these fle...

But now is not the time: June 2010
http://ahava516.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 25, 2010. I've always envied people who know, instinctively, passionately, what they 'want to do with their lives'. Because, in the spirit of frank honesty, I've never had a clue what to do with mine. I've never had that divine revelation, where you know, in your gut, that this is what I'm supposed to do, this is what I was meant for. It gets kind of frustrating, to be honest. Over the years, various teachers and other adults in authority would give us some assignment about 'what we want to ...

Hamby Downs: September 2009

Life through my eyes. on paper. Tuesday, September 29, 2009. After going to Stillwater last night, seeing friends and enjoying nothing but their company I began to realize something. These friends were still new friends. In the grand scheme of my 23 years, I had only really. Known them for 6 months. The best 6 months of my life. I have had so much happen in that period of time I not sure where it started. Maybe there was no official. Here's to the last 6 months. Saturday, September 19, 2009. That being s...

Life as a Lee: Autumn, are you here?
http://jinandemily.blogspot.com/2011/09/autumn-are-you-here.html
Life as a Lee. Sharing our adventures with you! Friday, September 9, 2011. Autumn, are you here? I say "Autumn" because "Fall" looked weird with a comma after it. Not to sound like an expert writer, or a vocab snob. Even though my husband makes fun of some words I use (for example "creme rinse", "fish crackers", and "coming attractions"), Autumn is not one of those. So yes, we are excited for Fall to get here! I have been in the mood to cook! 2-3 thawed chicken breasts. 1 can of Rotel. Pour into bowls an...

Life as a Lee: August 2011
http://jinandemily.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Life as a Lee. Sharing our adventures with you! Monday, August 29, 2011. At approximately 6:05 am August 28, 2011 a huge tree fell on one of our power lines. Of course it was the only tree that fell on the whole campground.but whatever we are out of power for the next few days. The power company estimates 7-10 days. Please no. So today is Day 2 and we learning how to deal. But in an effort to look on the bright side, here are a few things that we are thankful for right now. Panera Bread free Wifi. In you...

But now is not the time: But seriously, what is love?
http://ahava516.blogspot.com/2009/10/but-seriously-what-is-love.html
Thursday, October 15, 2009. But seriously, what is love? A lot of Christians have an odd habit of making a big fuss of love. From "God is love," to "Jesus loves you," to "Hate the sin, love the sinner," love is a word from which Christians get major mileage. Sometimes I wonder why we do it. I mean, to a lot of people out there, Christians aren't the ones expressing love. Condemnation, hate, anger, this is what so many see in us. Perhaps we should admit: we have made a mockery of love. What then, is love?
