Friday, January 16, 2009. Uttarayan - The Kite Flying Festival. Ahmedabad, India: We made it back to Ahmedabad just in time for the festival of Uttarayan (The Kite Flying Festival). Alan and Xavi were suppose to get to Ahmedabad in the morning of Jan. 14th, the first day of Uttarayan. After dinner, my dad, Gin, Devarshi (our neighbor) and I went to buy kite. The best deals you get on kites is in the old city, but my dad didn't want to go that far (far is a very relative term in Ahmedabad, anything pa...

http://thejadavs.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 28, 2008. Originally, our plan was to get everything packed up and Jigar would be on the road by 11am. That didn't quite happen. We had to go pick up the UHaul truck and retu. Rn the rental car we took to Pennsylvania yesterday. By the time we got all of that done, it was already 11. Then I had to go to physical therapy. JC came over not long after I got home and he brought us some lunch from Subway. We had lunch and by the time we got to packing, it was 1! How did that happen? We loved ou...

Another Day, Another Adventure!: September 2008
http://thejadavs.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 27, 2008. We finally got to Brissy (that's what Aussie's call Brisbane - they don't like using full words much) at about 6 in the morning. We were picking up our campervan (finally! So we had to hang around until 9:30 when Jucy, our rental car company, opened. We hung out, had some breakfast at Micky D's, and wrote some blogs. Around 9, I was walking to the ladies room and I heard, "Virginia? Who do I know in Brisbane? It was our friend Alan who we met on the Taka dive trip! The next ...

Another Day, Another Adventure!: August 2008
http://thejadavs.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. The Amazing Milford Sound". One of the most renouned places to visit in New Zealand is the Milford Sound. Our rental car company, Jucy, had an awesome 2-for-1 deal with Cruize Milford. Luckily, the first boat leaving at 9:30am had only 9 passangers in total on a boat with a capacity of about 100 people. This was the reason why Gin and I wanted to take the earliest cruise. By noon the place gets overrun by tourist and it spoils the beauty of the Sound. Monday, August 25, 2008.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Pictures from our first week in NZ. Http:/ www.facebook.com/album.php? Sunday, July 27, 2008. Oops, I did it again! Unfortunately, the day after Cathedral Cove turned out to be a 120 KMH wind storm. We were going to be stuck in our motel. Butti and I decided to go for a drive in the midst of the storm, while Gin and Vatsa decided to be smart and stay indoors during the storm. While in Auckland, we have been staying with Jigar's childhood friend, Butti (real name: Niral) and his wi...

Friday, November 14, 2008. The Mayhem (otherwise known as the Pushkar Camel Fair). Since the sun is strong in India, there are no events in the afternoon. We took the opportunity to have some lunch and rest before heading back to the fairgrounds in the evening. There was a camel race, parasailing, an award for the cow who gave the most milk (45 liters! That event was won by the locals. Http:/ www.facebook.com/album.php? Http:/ www.facebook.com/album.php? Sunday, November 9, 2008. The Palaces of Udaipur.

Tuesday, December 30, 2008. And then he took us to the obligatory shop (where all rickshaw drivers take you because if you buy something they get a hefty commission). The shop was interesting because they showed us how they do the Rajasthani block printing. But the sales pressure was high and we barely got out of there with our wallets in tact. We decided to steer clear of rickshaw drivers after that! Who knew McDonald’s had a guestbook? These giant gadgets meant nothing to us. Oh well! Overall, we didn&...

Another Day, Another Adventure!: The New Year in New Delhi!
http://thejadavs.blogspot.com/2009/01/new-year-in-new-delhi.html
Wednesday, January 7, 2009. The New Year in New Delhi! New Delhi, India: Being in Rajasthan for so long, Gin and I were looking forward to taking a traveling break. Fortunately, our next destination was New Delhi. One of my childhood friends, Himanshu Shani, moved there from Ahmedabad. I was looking forward to catching up with him. The man had a good point; we had seen more temples than places in India. We were spending a lot of time playing Nintendo Wii which reminded me of Greenfield. I remember la...
