Doubly Smashing Good Times: January 2009
http://musingsfromnowon.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Doubly Smashing Good Times. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Here I am posting my second entry in a single day! Talk about overload. I wonder if children of this digital age (or the N-Gen) do this all the time? Moreover, instead of examinations, he got the students to create webpages and used peer assessment. His words set me thinking:. 1998, p.156). It sounds so easy but implementation is not so smooth-sailing. I would want to be the NEW teacher in this NEW school. Think, think! But that's not the point ;p.

Doubly Smashing Good Times: December 2010
http://musingsfromnowon.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Doubly Smashing Good Times. Friday, December 24, 2010. Saying Goodbye to SST. Today I decided to write this post to mark the end of my stint in SST. I do not dare to walk down memory lane again - did that as I was packing my table - as I realize the immensity of things accomplished and experienced while being here. So many things can happen in a short span of time and so I believe that it will be a totally new experience for those still in SST and for those joining SST. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Doubly Smashing Good Times: May 2009

Doubly Smashing Good Times. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Culture - What is? It is interesting that we have to be told that dialogue. Is key in an organisation, be it internal or external. The conversations have to be uplifting, to keep everyone upwards rather than downwards. Is it true that "Everyday culture eats away your strategy"? If the culture is negative, would the strategies be carried out? Would they be still effective? Ladder of Inference [How can we make use of ABCDE chart? If not sure, let's.

Doubly Smashing Good Times: January 2010

Doubly Smashing Good Times. Saturday, January 23, 2010. A Tribute to Someone I Never Knew But Whose Passing Taught Me Something. When the people you love and care for. Reciprocate without expecting anything in return;. When the things you do for others. Are appreciated and celebrated;. When you walk around and notice. When you do not know how to love. Or are not even aware that you have not loved;. When no epitaph is written. In sweet memory of you;. When you fade into non-existence. And vanish like magic.

Doubly Smashing Good Times: February 2009
http://musingsfromnowon.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Doubly Smashing Good Times. Monday, February 16, 2009. Today I went to see Dr Towndrow to go through my first assignment. Succinctly put, my short literature review to talk about the kind of students SST is going to have was too descriptive. It should have also been critically-nuanced to bring out the gaps those authors have said in the context of my problem. This would be a good opportunity for me to then propose the solutions. Lots more to do! I must do better! Monday, February 9, 2009. It's been a whi...

Doubly Smashing Good Times: Eventful Week
http://musingsfromnowon.blogspot.com/2010/02/eventful-week.html
Doubly Smashing Good Times. Thursday, February 4, 2010. It is amazing how time flies since the epiphany of the fragile nature of life. I have not fallen sick for quite some time but I think my body finally succumbed to the viruses which attacked my two sons. I have had an eventful week, family matters, school matters, well, we just have to manage them as we move along. February 7, 2010 at 12:10 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Doubly Smashing Good Times: Fluency vs Accuracy
http://musingsfromnowon.blogspot.com/2010/09/fluency-vs-accuracy.html
Doubly Smashing Good Times. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Someone who is very experienced in teaching, shared with me that fluency in language learning is built over time and that accuracy can be mastered very quickly by just-in-time teaching, and that teaching grammar should be incidental. Perhaps I am taking things out of context but this idea might not be well-taken by the curriculum planning division, especially the English unit, as the latter appears to be advocating explicit teaching of grammar.

Doubly Smashing Good Times: August 2010
http://musingsfromnowon.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Doubly Smashing Good Times. Wednesday, August 4, 2010. The Expendable Future: 2015. A student passed me a book titled "The Extreme Future: The Top Trends that will Reshape the World in the Next 20 Years" by Canton, James (2007) this morning, puzzled with the typographical layout of the text. In the prose, boxes that give top jobs in the 2015, 2020, 2025 and 2030 were interspersed among the text. What is the author trying to do here? While browsing through the content, I came across this paragraph:. Many ...

Doubly Smashing Good Times: Coming to the end of Term 1
http://musingsfromnowon.blogspot.com/2010/02/coming-to-end-of-term-1.html
Doubly Smashing Good Times. Sunday, February 21, 2010. Coming to the end of Term 1. Time seems to fly on certain days and crawl on slowly on others, but this I can say for sure, weekends whiz by, leaving me breathless. I cannot believe we are coming to the end of February in 2010. It feels like so many things have taken place and I am still trying to collect and collate my emotions as I plod along this journey. We must all learn to prioritise and find a way as we plod along. Let's do this together!

Doubly Smashing Good Times: May 2010
http://musingsfromnowon.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Doubly Smashing Good Times. Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
