BigFeetBears: Snape
http://bigfeetbears.blogspot.com/2015/04/snape_15.html
Wednesday, 15 April 2015. Good grief - I lovelovelovelove my new camera lens! And, when the river finally did come into view, and I caught sight of something that looked like a wading bird, it was far too far away. My zoom lens didn't quite zoom enough. And finally, when I got back to the Quay Gallery, I was visited by a less exciting, but still very lovely, collared dove, who politely posed for a photograph. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). BigFeetBears: Orwell
http://bigfeetbears.blogspot.com/2015/04/orwell.html
Thursday, 30 April 2015. Hey - he didn't turn out too bad! This is Orwell - an unjointed bear made out of brown/blonde silk, with glass eyes and a clay nose. He is filled mostly with polyester fibrefill, but I had to stuff his head with wood wool otherwise it just wasn't firm enough (a complication for people trying to make him from a pattern). I love his bulky, realistic shape! Alrighty - this one's name is Orwell and he is £45. I shall put him on Etsy! I recognise that bottom! 3 May 2015 at 22:16.

BigFeetBears: Mohair teddy bears: how to choose alternative fabrics
http://bigfeetbears.blogspot.com/2015/05/mohair-teddy-bears-how-to-choose.html
Thursday, 7 May 2015. Mohair teddy bears: how to choose alternative fabrics. Hello - welcome to my blog! I am writing this post in conjunction with a sewing pattern for a little 9" teddy bear which I hope to release soon. I hope it is helpful. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments and I'll be sure to get back to you. However, given that it costs £40 - £140 per metre, you might want to explore cheaper alternatives - particularly if you have never made a bear before. I suspect that t...

BigFeetBears: Sun bears
http://bigfeetbears.blogspot.com/2015/05/sun-bears.html
Wednesday, 20 May 2015. I'm a little bit behind on updating the blog! I have been working on sun bears recently - I am quite taken with them. This first one is called Boo. He's made from a lovely silky black mohair, and quite big - measuring 17 inches from head to toe. He measures about 10.5 inches from head to toe. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to my blog! I am an 'art and crafter' from the UK - specialising particularly in collectible mohair teddy bears, which I sell online and at an art ...

BigFeetBears: Giant Panda
http://bigfeetbears.blogspot.com/2015/04/giant-panda.html
Monday, 20 April 2015. This is what I was working on for most of the week we spent at Snape Maltings - a giant panda! Anyway, do look at his photos below. Excuse all the pictures of me. I was trying to show how big he was, and I was having lots of fun setting the timer on the camera and then racing back to get in the picture! I like the back-to-back photo with you and the giant panda. 3 May 2015 at 16:53. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to my blog! Art and craft centre.

BigFeetBears: New pattern
http://bigfeetbears.blogspot.com/2015/04/new-pattern.html
Wednesday, 29 April 2015. This is what I've been working on most recently: it is a new design for an unjointed grizzly bear. I'm not quite certain how he is going to turn out. It has been one of those things - like with the mistle thrush. Where I've gotton hung up on silhouette, and probably neglected other, more important, aspects. I shall try making him in fur fabric today, and see what happens. Have started with something simpler(! But you couldn't have persuaded me of that at the time. The key I thin...
