Monday, June 29, 2009. Evan turned 11 months. Can you believe it? In 27 days, he will be celebrating a whole year. He weighs in at 23 pounds. And stands 29 inches tall. He has 4 teeth. Our story begins on a cold, snowy day in December when two people fell in love. We were married the following fall and a darling little daughter was born. Soon after. Sweet Emma was only three in 2006, when little brother, Eli was born, and was still only three when we would go through our biggest challenge in life - his passing. He still has all his medium brown hair and blue-grey eyes. What has he accomplished this month? Improved his lungs by yelling for food. Met many friends and relatives. Took his first long car ride to Edmond (it was too long for him! Slept his longest streak at 4 1/2 hours. Eats about 3-4 ounces per meal, and about a hundred meals a day :). In October, he'll b...

We have friends, family, and family friends there so that was an added bonus to our decision. We loaded up the minivan, checked out our books on CD, grabbed a few car snacks and headed out. Ramblings from a west coast girl lost in middle America. Saturday, February 09, 2013. The East is socked in and I am jealous. We had a blizzard a few years ago and I loved the brutal quiet and cold. I loved watching dogs cavort and try to clear two foot drifts with their stubby legs. I loved how it slowed everything down and doing nothing but watching snow, making soup, and curling up with cats was completely acceptable and anything else was frowned upon. Links to this post. Friday, August 18, 2017. Back to School 2017. I recognized the look on their faces, these new-to-the-school moms, rushing their tiny ones through the masses of excited children in the halls. Trying to keep up, holding a tiny hand for one last time this summer, as they dart in and out of a sea of backpacks and Kleenex boxes and classroom snacks for their new classrooms.
