The reflections and musings of a KCB206 student. March 26, 2012. While the term ‘moderation is the key’ is all the rage in our diets, drinking habits and lifestyles, how much ‘Internet moderation’ is too much? And, equally as important, who exactly is monitoring our online behaviour? Introduced into the American Congress in late 2011, the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). And codes of conduct. Sarikakis and Daya argue these forms go back to basic “human communication in civilised societies” ...The Library o...

The reflections and musings of a KCB206 student. Made by everyone: User participation within the entertainment industries. March 19, 2012. The world of new media is not only transforming the way we consume entertainment, but is also allowing the development of user participation. Conventional forms of media provided society with one-dimensional forms of entertainment with strict fundamentals, as to the industry was to produce entertainment and the receiver was to absorb without questioning. Rests that th...

A lifestyle and beauty blog of an Australian vegan. Weekend away – 21st birthday at O’Reilley’s, Lamington National Park. After having an amazing party the weekend before, my boyfriend whisked me away for a relaxing birthday weekend away at O’Reilley’s in the Lamington National Park. The drive up the mountain itself is beautiful albeit slightly nerve-wracking from the many blind curves. As the passenger I was rewarded with spectacular views most of the journey. A lifestyle and beauty blog of an Australian vegan. Hourglass Illusion tinted moisturiser review and face of the day. I recently picked up the Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturiser in Ivory from Mecca after reading rave reviews online. Australian stock is still sold in the old packaging which is a luxe, heavy glass bottle. The new, plastic squeeze tube appears much better for travel without losing too much of that luxe feeling. Vegan croissants – The Green Edge
https://heythereem.wordpress.com/2015/06/01/vegan-croissants-the-green-edge/comment-page-1
A lifestyle and beauty blog of an Australian vegan. Vegan croissants – The Green Edge. People often think vegans miss out on their favourite foods. The phrase “I could never give up….” is often tossed around. However I find it increasingly easy to buy or make alternatives for just about anything that taste just as good (or even better) than the traditional version. Specifically, vegan croissants from The Green Edge in Brisbane. Or liking their Facebook. Page to keep updated on their arrival. June 1, 2015.

Australis Velourlips
https://heythereem.wordpress.com/2015/06/05/australis-velourlips/comment-page-1
A lifestyle and beauty blog of an Australian vegan. I’ve recently been trying some shades from the Australis Velourlips range and they have quickly become some of my favourite lip products. Matte, stay-all-day, vegan and highly pigmented – what’s not to love? Bar-tha-lona is a vibrant red that requires one careful swipe and you’re out the door. Lun-dun is a cool-toned pink. To get the desired look, I usually apply 2 coats. Note: Not all of their products are vegan. Refer to the l. Ist on their website.
Sweater Weather Essentials
https://heythereem.wordpress.com/2015/06/07/sweater-weather-essentials
A lifestyle and beauty blog of an Australian vegan. This week marks the first days of winter in Australia and the colder weather is seeing me drawn more to certain products. Below is a few of my ‘essentials’ for this time of year. 1 Knitwear –. Jumpers. Capes. Cardigans. Whatever form they come in, soft luxurious knits are a must have for everybody in winter. Almost a mix between a cardigan and a cape, this knit. From Forever New is a classic. 2 Candles –. Is the perfect scent to bring light to your life.

Un año de aventuras. Chronicles of a year abroad in Chile and Spain. March 29, 2012. Italia Here We Come! First of all, this is a momentous occasion. Why? For the Love of China
For the Love of China. Me, Tony, Tim, Jon, Amelia, and Ryan. Amelia, Me, Rachel, and Ashley. Much has sprung this spring! View my complete profile. Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Much has sprung this spring! Temperatures are rising. A blanket of green can be seen across trees and grasses. Dust somehow finds its way into my eye every time I go outside. And I've pulled out my very old, rusty bike which has already needed several repairs. Yes, Spring is here! Playing musical chairs with boys as chairs. The stude...

I was snowed in for the last 3 months and unable to communicate with the outside world. Haha. well, not exactly, but it sure felt that way sometimes. This picture is after the first Spring false alarm. The snow was gone and the weather was beautiful for two days. then it all came back overnight. What a sweet feeling. Velikonoce (EASTER) is this Sunday! I can't believe it. This year is rea...

Seeking Refuge
Twirling on the Brink of Something Fabulous. Thursday, May 20, 2010. Tonight I sent into that trust a number of things. And tonight I sat at my trusty little table that I've had since 1999 and that my parents had for many years before that with my best friend. We looked around my empty apt, that will become emptier each day, and assessed this year. In my little apartment where life has unfolded so significantly and so beautifully, I am sad to leave it, but I know this only means another door opens. There...

Photo(s) of the Day. The Quest for Dosa in Delhi. A Guide to Indian Trains. Monday, May 4, 2015. Is "social enterprise" just a buzzword? I wrote the following post back in October but never ended up publishing it. I'm not sure why I forgot about it! Updated notes in []. Yesterday [25 October 2014]. I went to Cambodia's annual Social Enterprise Conference. Sothea was excited for the conference. I'm pretty sure she's going to start her own business some day. My practice pivots around narrative and the articulation of space through architecture. As the architecture of a space is dictated by functionality, I am interested in the forms and structures used in architecture that articulate the purpose, history and, as a result, the narrative of the space. 8211; Born 25 Jan 1991, Nottingham. 8211; A Levels in Fine Art and English Literature, Rushcliffe School, Nottingham, 2009. 8211; Foundation Degree in Art and Design, South Nottingham College, Nottingham, 2010.
