Plot, pants or ping? | Emma Wright
https://emmawrightwrites.wordpress.com/2016/06/20/plot-pants-or-ping
Plot, pants or ping? June 20, 2016. Those light bulb moments – when you finally figure out how to get your character from point a to b are rather marvellous, aren’t they? I’ve been lucky to have a few recently, which is useful as I’m at the plotting and planning stage. There’s been a lot of staring out of windows, ah-yes-that-could-happen realisations followed by scribbling in notebooks (yep, that nice pink one). But frequently, the ping! What if I can’t trust the pings to happen? I’m compensating ...

Today I’m reading…. June 15, 2016. From the brilliant Australian author Emily Maguire. This is a thriller that does so much more than just compel you to race through its pages. Beautifully written with deftly observed characters, it’s a story about grief, death and the media and is taking up a distinct space in my thoughts at the momen. Writer, Londoner living in Sydney, aspiring author, book lover, showbiz obsessive. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). A fami...

July 8, 2016. Today I’m reading…. Books that take me far away. It’s the depths of winter here (17 degrees, rain, rain, rain) and the school holidays which means I’ve had a good excuse to snuggle up and binge read. I finally downloaded the brilliant I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh. Which more than lived up to its bestselling status and was a twisty, creepy and wonderfully atmospheric read (and had me wanting to transplant myself to the Welsh seaside). Then in swift succession I read Lucy Clarke. Then com...

My life is an open blog! As different as C1 and C2. July 27, 2015. In 1 Mothering on Monday. Bob died last Thursday. In case you’re wondering, Bob was C2’s pet goldfish. Santa gifted the kids a pair of goldfish three Christmases ago. C1 got Twinkle; C2 got Bob (the kids named their fish). I high-fived Santa for his super smart thinking. Pets instead of toys for Christmas? Santa was a genius! Bob’s cardboard coffin – check out the spelling of ‘died’. C1 got on the phone to grandma and broke down sobbing, ...

My life is an open blog! August 13, 2015. In 4 Tasty Thursday. I ate my first slice of cheesecake when I was a teenager living in Bombay (Mumbai). My cousin Gordon and his family were visiting from Toronto and they had given my mum a box of Lemon Cheesecake to make yes, the packet variety. So when I moved to Australia, I ate my way through every cheesecake I could find, one delicious slice at a time. The possibilities. Oh, the tantalising possibilities. 3 eggs, separated. I participated in an online party nearly two years ago where I was lucky to win two books from a series called ‘The Sunflower Trilogy’. I devoured both of them in next to no time. I contacted the author, Jennifer Domenico, afterwards to let her know how much I loved the books and also how I had fallen head over heels for Enzo, the sexy Italian hero. Blurb for ‘Londyn Falls’. All I want is to love him. And the answer is YES!
