Trivial things: February 2008
http://trivialthings.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 24, 2008. Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Making a home for yourself in a foreign country is easier said than done. In ones home country it is easy to know where to get what. Say for instance that I want to buy a toaster, then I would know what kind of shops would sell it in Sweden and I would know where to find these shops. But things aren’t like that here. There aren’t many big department stores that have everything. They have the plain silver and bronze metal tacks but not colourful ones&...

Trivial things: October 2007
http://trivialthings.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Well at least I emptied four cupboards in the hallway and divided the stuff into different piles in the house. In 2 weeks time I have an inspection of the apartment where I have lived for the past 3 years. So before then I need to sort of tidy up and move stuff away from the walls n floors. So they can check for damages like if I’ve scribbled on the wall or carved my initials in the wooden floor in the living room. At first I was so eager, happy and excited about moving out.

Trivial things: Working Girl part 2
http://trivialthings.blogspot.com/2008/11/working-girl-part-2.html
Monday, November 10, 2008. Working Girl part 2. It was after my first day at work. My head was overloaded with information and the sun was hot. It might also have been that the three layers of clothes I was wearing, from the morning in Jerusalem which had been very chilly, were a bit too much for one o’clock afternoon in Tel Aviv. The loved one called and said that he was on his way to pick me up. I said I would get a sandwich and wait for him by the petrol station on the main road. How much for what?

Sunday, November 25, 2007. Darkness - My Acquaintance. Ok, so let me finally breach this painful and difficult subject. I don’t really know how to go about it but here we go…. It didn’t either matter that many people around me tried to tell me that “No you are not supposed to be accompanied by this darkness, you are young, this is the best time of your life – you are supposed to be happy! Another was a teacher at university, who gave me a business card and said “I am worried about you, call this pe...

Trivial things: June 2009
http://trivialthings.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 08, 2009. How do you stop time? I am still stuck in February or March. I get a shock every time I see the date. What is going on? This morning I woke up to the BrrrBrrrrBrrrrBrrrBrrrBrrrrBrrr. of a large engine just outside our window. It drives me crazy. It was not a big tourist bus but a greenish-brown big van of some weird kind. 8220;Do you speak English? 8220;No” said the man who looked like 12 years old in green clothes. So how did the f… did you understand what I was saying? 8220;Ok, I...

Trivial things: February 2009

Wednesday, February 25, 2009. I spoke to my sweet mother the other day and she asked "Why oh why can't you come and live in Sweden.". I just said "How can I? When the almond trees are blossoming and the lemons are perfectly ripe on the branches for me to pick.". Saturday, February 21, 2009. After planning an amazing trip to the desert and failing tragically, (see desktop image) I decided to comfort myself with planting a herb garden just outside our door. Great for a lot of different things: mint tea, mi...

Saturday, December 01, 2007. There is of course a lot of research about depression and there are many kinds but the three most common are Major Depression. Is a combination of symptoms that interfere with the ability to work, sleep, eat, or enjoy anything. Some people have a single episode of depression, but many have episodes that recur. According to scientists there are three factors that may be the cause of depression, the factors are biological, genetic or environmental. 8221; I refused to acknowledg...

Trivial things: Market Day
http://trivialthings.blogspot.com/2009/02/once-week-i-try-to-go-to-market-in-city.html
Friday, February 06, 2009. Once a week I try to go to the market in the city to do our grocery shopping. It is cheaper and always much more colourful than the big supermarkets. Vegetables are among the few things here that are cheaper than in Sweden, BUT only in season. Off-season the price is shocking or else it is impossible to get. Unlike Sweden where we can buy most vegetables and fruit all year round and the prices don't vary too much inspite of season. A few exmples of how much stuff costs:. Id buy...
