There used to be three churches in Kisszentgrót, the civil town of Zalaszentgrót, which shows the importance of it. Read more: The Ruined Tower. Das Wappen von Zalaszentgrót. Da änderten die Vorsteher der Stadt an dem ehemaligen Wappen, auf dem oberen Teil des mit einer Welle halbierten Wappens war auf blauem Grund die ehemalige Festung und daneben - vielleicht als Forderung der Zeit - ein roter Stern zu sehen. Im unteren Teil befand sich der oben schon erwähnte geharnischter Arm. Dieses Wappen war bis 1991 gültig, insgesamt 17 Jahre lang.

A pajzs vörös mezejében lebegő ezüst rövid kardot tartó páncélos kar, alatta zöld babérág helyezkedik el. A rövid kardot tartó páncélos kar a végvári harcokat örökíti meg, alatta a babérág a harcok hősiességét jelképezi." - így definiálták a város vezetői 1991 decemberében azt az azóta is érvényben lévő városi címert, amelyet Zalaszentgrót mezővárosi történetében fedezhetünk fel.
