You can't get in a hurry with it or let the. Tri-tip, or Triangle Roast, comes from the bottom of the sirloin. It is a very tender piece of meat with a low fat content. You really need to watch the internal temperature when you smoke a Tri-tip roast or it will dry out and get tough on you. 1/2 cup course ground pepper.

Be sure to get your oil temperature up to 375(F) before frying. 3 cups all purpose flour. 1 tsp baking powder. 8 oz canned or fresh pureed pumpkin(butternut squash or sweet potatoes can be substituted). 1/2 cup lard, shortening or margarine - melted (I use shortening). Vegetable oil for frying. 2 tbsp granulated sugar. 1 tbsp ground cinnamon. 1/4 tsp ground clove. 1/4 tsp ground ginger.
