English 251: Film and Literature: Freeway

http://eng251.blogspot.com/2007/04/freeway.html

English 251: Film and Literature. Sunday, April 29, 2007. The film we look at this week, Matthew Bright's. Is a film which like Cat People. Both plays with and against multiple genre conventions. Like Cat People. Is part horror film (it could even be said to essentially share the same monster- -the werewolf). It also has, as several critics have pointed out, "one foot in the grind house and one in the art house.". Director Bright himself labeled the film an "artsploitation". View my complete profile.

Elizabeth Jacobs - English 250. Sunday, April 25, 2010. I like the way that Yoda is looking directly at the camera in this shot, it took me an hour to get the perfect shot where she was looking at me. The light was just right and i thought the blur of her fuzzy body against the fuzzy sofa creates this relaxed feeling that suits the look that Yoda has. She was peaceful and the lighting supported that feeling. Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Writing like Annie Dillard. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Monday, April 5, 2010.
