electric monk: October 2008
http://davescanlon.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Blah, blah, blah. Sunday, October 26, 2008. Fionn chatting, being frightened, and getting over-excited at Brion and Roisin's, all the while wearing the world's deadliest t-shirt - nice one Steve! Posted by David Scanlon. Tiresome. Picasa 3: it's uber-pants. Turns out it won't import video. Fair enough, I presume it's a beta release (tomorrow's news: Google in non-beta release shocker! Picasa doesn't provide an option to release that control back to Ubuntu. So I've uninstalled. Kerpow, Google! Speaking of ...

electric monk: August 2009
http://davescanlon.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Blah, blah, blah. Sunday, August 23, 2009. Lions and Tigers and Fionn, oh my! We all went to the zoo yesterday, zoo yesterday, the zoo yesterday. The weather suddenly remembered it was August and the sun scorched down from early 'til late, and the place was absolutely thronged. Only my second time there, Fionn's first, and he was absolutely thrilled. Big hit for him: the tortoises (although he insisted. Thirteen months of growth. Another epic journey,. A definite mile-stone,. When baby goes bipedal.

http://davescanlon.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Blah, blah, blah. Sunday, September 28, 2008. Was fun, in lots of unexpected ways. I met John McGuinness. Minister for State at DETE, and was very impressed with his outspoken support for blogging within the civil service. Just checked out his site there, and I seem to have missed the media storm. From last week surrounding his comments on the civil service. Go get 'em John. I also got a hug from Grannymar. The evidence is here. But a certain young Bohanna needs to share his photos properly! So the organ...

http://davescanlon.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Blah, blah, blah. Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Catholic Church in Ireland. The recent report on the horror and depravity visited on children by the Catholic Church in Ireland. Has gone some way towards bringing the issue to the public's attention, but personally I feel more needs to be done. I am not happy that much needed tax monies are being spent by the State (via the Residential Institutions Redress Board), shouldering the brunt of the culpability of the Catholic Church in Ireland. PS This is one of the mo...

electric monk: November 2008
http://davescanlon.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Blah, blah, blah. Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Last night, lying alone in bed, I did something I hadn't done since I was a teenager.I put on my headphones and listened to some music before falling asleep. I listen to/hear a lot of music throughout the course of the day (19 tracks a day according to Last FM. On my commute, in the office (I can't work without tunes in the background), having dinner with S. Thinking about it last night reminded me of the "No Music Day" article in last week's Ticket. Itself&#...

Blah, blah, blah. Friday, August 14, 2009. A sailor's life for me. Fionn and I took a dander out to Dun Laoghaire this afternoon to see what we could see: and we saw this:. Photo © xia08. Check out the guy standing on the dock at her bow to get an idea of how insanely. Big she is. She's the Cinderella IV. Out of Zwartsluis, en route to the Monaco Yacht Show and she is so amazingly amazing I think I'd like to steal her. /zaphod. Posted by David Scanlon. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://davescanlon.blogspot.com/2009/07/give-me-some-time-i-just-need-little.html
Blah, blah, blah. Thursday, July 2, 2009. Give me some time, I just need a little time. Almost a month to the day since my last blog post, sign of the times. As per my previous post, my days are feeling a little full recently. This is coinciding with what has been Fionn's most intense period of developmental growth to date, so I'm forcing myself to take some time out and document it - this is the stuff you don't want to forget! Most recent trick: walking! He has taken independent steps on a few occasions...
