whiskey kittens: Travel Diary: Colorful, Crooked, Charming Lisbon
http://whiskeykittens.blogspot.com/2014/05/day-1-colorful-crooked-charming-lisboa.html
Saturday, May 24, 2014. Travel Diary: Colorful, Crooked, Charming Lisbon. Believe it or not, Todd and I weren't sure if we would like Lisbon. We'd heard mixed reviews of the city, some calling it shabby, its residents unfriendly. It turned out to be one of our favorite places we've ever been. Located in the oldest part of the city just outside the castle walls. After a quick shower (and excited bouncing around the apartment on my part), we set out to find some lunch. Lisbon is known for its colorful, int...

whiskey kittens: Travel Diary: Lisbon and Sintra
http://whiskeykittens.blogspot.com/2014/06/day-2-lisbon-and-sintra.html
Friday, June 13, 2014. Travel Diary: Lisbon and Sintra. It's a mystery why Todd and I both woke up before dawn on our second day in Portugal. It would have been around midnight back home, and neither of us had slept well that night. But we decided to get up and take a hike to a nearby miradouro (overlook). It was still early when we walked to the train station, bound for Sintra. About 30 minutes from Lisbon, Sintra. Posted by Erica Jackson Curran. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

whiskey kittens: Walking Richmond's Floodwall
http://whiskeykittens.blogspot.com/2015/06/walking-richmonds-floodwall.html
Friday, June 5, 2015. One of my favorite things about Richmond is how it's so tied in with its natural surroundings. The James River winds right through the city, offering some of the only Class IV rapids you'll find in an urban setting. The James River Park. Extends for miles along the river, through meadows and forests, and past a historic cemetery and Civil War POW camp. Last weekend we took a stroll along the Floodwall. Which has some of the best views of the city I've seen. With Legend Brewing.

Monday, June 16, 2014. An AirBnB Summer: Six Places I Want to Stay. All-white luxury in Old Montreal. I just took a look at my summer calendar and I realized that most of our weekends are already booked. Cape Cod, D.C., Montreal, and Newport are officially on the agenda, and I'm also hoping we can squeeze in some time in Maine, L.A., and N.Y.C. I've shared my love of AirBnB. The Keeper's House Inn. Is an operating lighthouse station located on the remote island of Isle Au Haut, Maine. Lower East Side loft.

Friday, October 24, 2014. A Wedding Weekend in Charleston. I'm heading down to Charleston this weekend for a dear friend's wedding. I can't wait to spend time with old friends, eat at some of my favorite restaurants, and see what's new in the city. By the way, did you see that Charleston was once again voted the best city in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler. I've gotta vote for Richmond now, but this video makes a pretty compelling argument. A Love Letter to Charleston. From Charleston Area CVB. We began ...

whiskey kittens: Six Stylish Walking Shoes for Europe
http://whiskeykittens.blogspot.com/2015/07/six-stylish-walking-shoes-for-europe.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Six Stylish Walking Shoes for Europe. We're about a month out from our next trip to Europe, and while I've booked our plane tickets, apartments. And even picked out some restaurants, there's one little detail I haven't put too much thought into: What to wear? Who gallivant around Europe in their cute little sandals and heels. Do they keep a pair of sensible flats in their oversized (and equally impractical) purse? Posted by Erica Jackson Curran. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

whiskey kittens: Whole30 Week 1: 5 Things I Couldn't Live Without
http://whiskeykittens.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-whole30-mvps-week-1.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Whole30 Week 1: 5 Things I Couldn't Live Without. I just completed Week 1 of the Whole30. A 30-day diet that eliminates all sugar, dairy, legumes, alcohol, and grains. Why would I do that to myself? Because the program promises increased energy, balanced metabolism, weight loss, improved gut health, and—most importantly for me—control over cravings. Todd and I both also wanted to stop being so dependent on eating out, something we do way too often. So what does that leave? 8212; I...

whiskey kittens: Travel Journal: Spain's Costa Brava
http://whiskeykittens.blogspot.com/2014/10/travel-journal-spains-costa-brava.html
Sunday, October 19, 2014. Travel Journal: Spain's Costa Brava. It's been awhile, but I realized that I never shared any photos from the last leg of our Eurotrip: Spain's Costa Brava. This little stretch of scenic coastline wasn't even on my radar before I started planning the trip, but I'm so glad I found out about it. It's dotted with medieval villages, stunning little beaches, and hilltop castles. (All photos were taken on my iPhone.). Hugging the cliffs in Aiguablava. Posted by Erica Jackson Curran.

Wednesday, April 8, 2015. 6 Things to Drink in Lisbon, Portugal. Since visiting Portugal nearly a year ago, I've had a story idea bouncing around my brain. At the risk of sounding like a lush, it's about all of the wonderful things you can drink in Lisbon, from its distinctively dark coffee to its fizzy "green" wine. I finally pitched the idea to Paste, and it was published last week. You can read it here. And check out my previous blog post on Lisbon here. Posted by Erica Jackson Curran.
