A long December and there's reason to believe, maybe this year will be better than the last. - Counting Crows,. It is time for my annual "year in review," where I take stock of the year and look forward at plans to come. Let's just get into it. Completing a Whole30 (again). One of my goals was to finish a second round of the Whole30. For my daughters. I also cobbled together a wooden stable. Was born Aug. 23...

Skip to main content. The personal ramblings of Eric J. Gruber. On Saturday, December 31, 2011. So here we are at the end of 2011. I will end this year with a story. Maybe it will help you think about where you'd like to be at this time next year. It has certainly given me pause. Yesterday, one of my family members went to a funeral of a 41-year-old married father of two. His wife was to put in her notice on Tuesday, but during the middle of the night on Monday, death came. Skip to main content. The personal ramblings of Eric J. Gruber. On Sunday, May 19, 2013. This is a post from Terminal B of Kansas City International Airport (MCI). The thrill of flying is gone. Man, this used to be an exciting experience for me. But after today, I'm not sure I'll ever fly again. I get to the airport one hour and 15 minutes before departure. I was flying on Southwest, so I get into the terminal and proceed to the long line at the first. So I make my way to the security theatre where a.

February 2014 | Title to Come

http://www.ericjgruber.com/archive/201402

Skip to main content. The personal ramblings of Eric J. Gruber. On Monday, February 24, 2014. When I got married, my wife was surprised and a little bit relieved that I didn't like to watch sports. I grew up as a sports fan, a little bit, but in my adult years I didn't see the point in it. I played Little League baseball, and would like liked to play more football, but a rare disease called osteochondritis dissecans. Forced me to sit out of sports for several years. Like Douglas, I find myself watching a...

Skip to main content. The personal ramblings of Eric J. Gruber. Halfway through the Whole30. On Wednesday, January 15, 2014. When I set out my goals for the new year. One of the first things I said I would tackle was the Whole30. In essence, The Whole30 can be described itself. I have to say that things are going very, very well. After the holidays, I was stuffed. I indulged myself a wee bit too much, and eating nothing but whole foods really has removed the bloat I was feeling at the start of the mo...

Colophon: Is The Lead Safe?

http://www.istheleadsafe.com/colophon

So what is this? After a season of watching college basketball, a friend and I kept saying that someone should create a website which tracks when a game is over before it is officially over. I finally got tired of talking about it and I made one. I'm using a modification of Bill James. Method to determine when a game is over with a percentage of certainty. If nothing else I use the website for figuring out which games are on, what channel, and how interesting they are based on the lead. In Lawrence, KS.
