Shelby's Blog: November 2007
http://lhsap2shelbyw.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 29, 2007. So, I'm really having problems with this piece. I really just have no idea what to do with it, and I'm not a big fan of the way it is now. I'm not sure what I should do with the background. I can't decide if I want to leave it like this, or if a more solid background would go better with the way I painted the dog. Overall I am having a very slow start. Hopefully this will go more smoothly in the future! Sunday, November 4, 2007. I have always loved. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, May 11, 2008. The Birth of Venus? For our new projects I am hoping to reproduce "The Birth of Venus." Is nudity allowed? Obviously it's tastefully done in this piece, but I don't know how these kids would react or how much they're used to. Well, if it's allowed, I dibs this piece. No idea what I'm going to do for the second piece yet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Back to the art blog! View my complete profile. The Birth of Venus?

Shelby's Blog: March 2008
http://lhsap2shelbyw.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2008. Cool art up at Powell's. This month's Powell's has the work of Cynthia Moore up in the Pearl Room. Very inspiring, especially sense she does encaustic portraits of animals. Sound familiar? Anyway, her art is very gorgeous, and a great example of the cool stuff you can do with encaustic. I think that, like Judy, she does acrylic paintings that she later cuts out and covers with wax. I will have to try that. Monday, March 10, 2008. I used to love them.). Maybe I can produce something.

Sunday, April 27, 2008. Awesome Judy Wise Encaustic. Well, I was going to post pics of all of my 12 completed pieces, just to see them all lined up together, but I realized that I don't have them or a camera to take pictures of them! Instead I decided to check out what Judy Wise has been doing. I love this bird picture she made! It's amazing what this woman can do with wax- I feel like such a klutz when I work in encaustic. Monday, April 21, 2008. My next piece is all about koi. Sunday, April 13, 2008.

Thursday, October 4, 2007. This is another charcoal drawing I made in my class over the summer. It's not quite finished, but I still got a pretty good structure, and I like how it turned out. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Back to the art blog! View my complete profile.
