Erin in Europe

I, the intrepid traveller, boldly goes where many have been before - the United Kingdom - for six months. I plan to thoroughly explore the mother country with as much gusto and little expense as possible. Oh, I'll also be travelling elsewhere around Europe. This is a log of said travels.

Erin in Europe: September 2008

http://erin-in-europe.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 14, 2008. Hello all of you following my footsteps across the great wide world. I thought I would update you on what I have been doing. So here goes! I arrived in Rome on Monday after a very early start in London. Can I say one thing about London? At 4 in the morning, it is can be bloody terrifying. It can also be hugely entertaining, especially when you ask a gentleman if he has change for five pounds and he is "not sure." It is a fine line, folks. Contact anyone at home? We ended up ca...

Erin in Europe: The Unbearable Lightness of Being??

http://erin-in-europe.blogspot.com/2008/08/unbearable-lightness-of-being.html

Thursday, August 28, 2008. The Unbearable Lightness of Being? In the past six or so hours that I started and (almost) completed packing, I've realised something quite disconcerting. The objects that I've collected during my existence? They are utterly useless for worldly travel. They're also quite burdensome and unable to fit into my suitcase due to their size and weight. Oh, and my suitcase? That, ladies and gentlemen, is the next six months of my life, packaged and padlocked. Sadly, my Dalek couldn't m...

Erin in Europe: 20 Things I've Learnt About London (so far)

http://erin-in-europe.blogspot.com/2008/09/20-things-ive-learnt-about-london-so.html

Friday, September 5, 2008. 20 Things I've Learnt About London (so far). 1 For the majority of the flight, you're sitting in total darkness. And then you start to descend and you have to keep the window shades up (can anyone explain exactly why that is? Once we broke through the clouds, London opened up. And it was. And it's mind-boggling that I am. 2 Damn, it's meant to rain for the weekend. Oh well, I'm sure it won't be bad. 3 The tube is pretty quick. Or am I just blind? 6 Oh, oops, wrong turn. 8 Hmm &...

Erin in Europe: October 2008

http://erin-in-europe.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 11, 2008. How's it all going? It's currently a lovely Friday afternoon, and I am inside on the internet trying to fix up my computer. I think I've been successful! Anyway, here is the second week:. There’s just so much to do here and so little time. Next week, Jemma will be coming down for two days and then I’ll be heading up to Oxford! Oh - I loved Wicked! If you have a chance - see it! It was so much fun. And very funny. Definitely one of my favourites! I think I'll see it again.

Gypsy Daughter

Friday, September 7, 2012. For all of you who don’t already know, I have made quite a change and it’s more than just the title of this blog. I have moved from Alaska to Abu Dhabi. Why? Erin in Ghana

Thoughts from across the pond. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. It has now been almost two months since I returned from my placement in Jirapa, Ghana. Yet each morning I walk down my street on my way to campus, hoping someone will greet me with a smile and a hearty “Angsoma! My friend Nancy greets me every day. My good friend Kobe. Now I am back in Canada, back at school, and back to my busy life. But Ghana hasn’t left me yet. It is still there, inside me, screaming to get out. I choose the latter. 2) Donate...
