Once Upon A Baking Tray. 8220;Your flat always smells of biscuits…”, a friend recently said to me stepping inside. When he’s right…🙂. I’m happiest when I can make other people happy. And who isn’t happy when being presented with a cake? I’ve been baking as long as I can remember. First with my mom, but most of all with my nan. She belonged to the generation that doesn’t need scales. Baking for her was all about having a feel for it. A few years ago I also fell in love with working with fondant. Fill in ...

Once Upon A Baking Tray. It’s a boy. January 13, 2015. January 13, 2015. Mostly I’m not a fan of overloading a cake with decorative items, but in this case I think it turned out pretty well. I was invited to a baby shower for a soon to be mom of a little boy. One of the other guests asked me to bring a cake, and if I could do it in the shape of a pregnant belly. I get what you’re thinking. Eww, gross! My thoughts exactly…. After browsing some of my old magazines I came up with this:. Banoffee Pie →.

Once Upon A Baking Tray. Welcome to the Oktoberfest. October 31, 2014. January 13, 2015. Milestone Birthdays are often celebrated with motto parties. So was the 30th Birthday of a dear friend. Since it’s in October, her motto had to be the German Octoberfest – blue and white checkered tablecloths, treditional brass-music and everyone dressed up in Drindl and Lederhosen. Of course she wanted a matching cake to go with it. Click to share on Google (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window).

Once Upon A Baking Tray. September 25, 2014. January 13, 2015. A friend of my mom’s ordered a cake for her grandson’s 9th Birthday. He’s a big fan of dinosaurs and an even bigger one of volcanos. So basically, this was a no-brainer…. The dinosaurs were made of modeling paste. Click to share on Google (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window). Once Upon A Baking Tray. Upside Down Apple Walnut Cake. January 11, 2015. Upside down cakes are a little tricky to make since it takes a little experience to know when exactly they are done. The results though taste amazing. First peel 4-5 apples and cut into fine slices. Toss with some lemon juice and set aside. Spread the prepared apples on the caramell. If you wish you can lay them out in a nice pattern, just make sure there are no gaps in between. Click to share on Google (Opens in new window). You a...
