This spring Alex Gavan is trying to accomplish the first Romanian ascent of Everest without using supplementary oxygen. After climbing Cho Oyu (8201m) in 2006 and making the First Romanian Ascents of Gasherbrum 1 (8068m) and Makalu (8463m) in 2007 and 2008, all without oxygen mask, Alex is trained and ready to take the challenge further on his fourth eight thousand meter peak.
