Brandon's Big Year in Birding. Saturday, December 28, 2013. Rio Grande Valley: Day 2. Bentson was a little disappointing. We did not see a lot of birds in general, but I was able to add Black Phoebe and Loggerhead Shrike to the list. Here are a few pics from today. The lighting for photos continued to be poor, but tomorrow will hopefully be sunny and 70 degrees. Going up river to Falcon Dam. Once again.I can't wait! Not a pile of leaves. My wife suggested that we research a bird species each month and write a little something about the chosen bird. She has kicked it off with the common and beautiful morning dove. I personally got a kick out of reading her article. I hope you enjoy it too! Juveniles may also be confused with ground doves or inca doves. By 3 months old juveniles resemble adult birds. Brandon's Big Year in Birding. Monday, February 25, 2013. Owls: 1 Brandon: 0. Last Monday was President’s Day. No school meant I had the day off. I took Ruby to get her haircut and then to lunch with Grandma and Dzia Dzia. Because she didn’t go to the babysitters on Monday (her usual day), she ended up going on Wednesday.
