Introducing you to all kinds of great music. Supporter of independent musicians and artists. Quick Q and A with Dave Mattacks. Dave has some serious chops. His ear is fine-tuned and he’s able to make the most of each song by lending just the right amount of percussion at just the right time. The sign of a great musician is knowing how to use the space and the silence to its advantage. To learn some more about Dave Mattacks, visit his website. Here’s a video. That illustrations Dave’s technique. I can’t r...

Introducing you to all kinds of great music. Fun at the Green River Festival. Now I understand what all the buzz is about. The Green River Festival. Has been heralded as one of the summer festivals to attend by major media sources like Rolling Stone and USA Today. I haven’t had the opportunity to attend until this year and, at that, I was only able to attend one daybut I packed as much as I could into that one day. The Parlor Room stage. I was able to catch a bit of music by both Suitcase Junket. I’m a s...

July 2014 - Freelance Folkie
http://freelancefolkie.com/2014/07
Boosting the Signal on Great Acoustic Music. Review: Kind of Brave by Kat Quinn. July 24, 2014. One of the best things that has happened since attending my first NERFA. Has been becoming part of a loop of music sharing within the larger-than-I-had-previously-comprehended folk music community. This includes the random surprise of occasionally opening my mailbox to find CDs hoping to be heard. That’s how I came to discover an EP from Massachusetts-based Kat Quinn. July 10, 2012. A, who is constantly talking to experts about these things for articles. Says that a year is probably too long, and I believe her when she says these things (even over the NP), so I’ll probably go sooner than that. And also keep an eye on it. An eye on my leg – that’d be kind of creepy! So I’m left with a red circle on my leg that will eventually go away (I’m told) and the all-clear for now. Wee – I’m the mayor of this swanky new building! July 10, 2012 at 3:12 am. This is very good news!
Review: The List of Whales by Carrie Ferguson - Freelance Folkie

Boosting the Signal on Great Acoustic Music. Review: The List of Whales by Carrie Ferguson. February 24, 2014. February 24, 2014. Popping in a brand new CD for the first time, even from a well regarded rising artist like Carrie Ferguson. Always comes with a little bit of nervousness. Will I like this? I had heard her in the Emerging Artist Showcase at the 2013 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival but was not really familiar with her music. This was going to be essentially a new exposure. This page is intended to list all ongoing campaigns and their end dates so interested listeners can jump in and support the artists. The world needs more music, right? Am I missing a campaign? Please let me know. Rachel Kilgour, I’ll Put My Own Self Back Together. 8211; ends October 28, 2015.

I was quite delighted to open my mailbox earlier this month to find the gift of Sharon Goldman. 8216;s new CD, Silent Lessons. Boosting the Signal on Great Acoustic Music. I can never remember at the end of the year all of which releases came out earlier in the same year. So here I plan to keep a list broken down by month. Everything Under the Sun
Everything Under the Sun. Monday, June 24, 2013. You'd think by how long it's been between posts that the bathroom would be done. Nope. But, having said that, it looks a little more like a bathroom now. Anyway, they now have all the tile installed in the shower and on the floor, as well as new paint on the walls. The tile isn't as brownish as this shows. Blame it on poor white balance. Of course, do you really care about the color of the tile in my bathroom? Please be over soon. Tuesday, June 11, 2013.

EVERYTHING SUNNY ALL THE TIME, ALWAYS
EVERYTHING SUNNY ALL THE TIME, ALWAYS. YouFace: Who are YOU facing? January 30, 2014. For my addictions class, we have been asked to give up a substance or behavior for six weeks. It should be something that we interact with on a daily basis; something we really don’t want to give up. It doesn’t have to be something that is necessarily bad for us, it can be, but we need to be able to feel its effects when we remove it from our lives. And with that explanation out of the way, here’s the letter:. I know th...
EVERYTHING SUNNY | sharing the meaningful adventures of loving and living
Sharing the meaningful adventures of loving and living. January 25, 2009 by Joanne. When I was at Baltimore I dreaded the end of fall because I know winter will soon come. I’m not really a fan of snow. I fully appreciated the beauty of it. Now, when snow is sticking to the soles of my shoes or the wind chill is too much that it gives me goosebumps I just hold to the thought that winter has its own charm. In Memory of Jan. December 20, 2008 by Joanne. Life is loving and living like every second counts.
