Afarensis: Anthropology, Evolution and Science: Adapidae, Omomyidae, and Anthropoid Origins: Updated
http://mcdougald.blogspot.com/2009/05/adapidae-omomyidae-and-anthropoid.html
Monday, May 11, 2009. Adapidae, Omomyidae, and Anthropoid Origins: Updated. In a previous post. I discussed competing views about adapids and omomyids. In that post I said:. I bring this up because of recent news. Once you get past the dreck about the "missing link" and small mammals (? The article has some interesting points. If I read this article correctly the find would actually support Rasmussen. From the article:. Update 1: Brian has an excellent post on the subject. Posted by afarensis, FCD. Loyal...

Spring at the Hoge Veluwe. April 12, 2010 · 7:53 pm. So, we’ve been up to the usual puttering ’round here. Some pics! Meet Tentacle Face 2: Return of Tentacle Face. Hes my new aloe vera plant in my office to replace old aloe vera plant Tentacle Face, who I had to leave in London when we moved. Fun fact: Tentacle Face actually leapt out of his pot while Fiona and I were watching. True story. Im rather fond of both my Spring ladies - check out Fis Winter? And Cherrys seasonal sass! July 16, 2010 · 8:32 pm. We’re in Amsterdam for a long weekend, staying at the flat of some friends who are away (thanks friends! It’s a working weekend for both of us as we have writing to do, but it will be great to experience what it would be like to live in the big city! First off we went and spent a fortune on shiny English language sci-fi/fantasy books. Hmm. Maybe it’s best we don’t make a habit of this after all😉. May 17, 2010 · 9:26 pm. Continue reading →. Behold, the balcony garden →. May 17, 2010 · 9:26 pm. April came and went with a gush of rain and wind and…whoa, how are we already in mid-May? I had a flying visit to England in April to see Mom and Mike. Well, not so much with the flying actually … Flight was cancelled but managed to book on the Eurostar instead before all the ash really hit the fan so to speak. Here’s a few camera phone highlights right now; watch for much more exciting pictures of Miz Fiona’s Magic Balcony Garden tomorrow. Behold, th...

Weekend away →. May 29, 2010 · 7:13 pm. Behold, the balcony garden. We also wanted to try out growing stuff we could eat, a bit of a challenge because the balcony is east-facing: it gets lots of morning sun but after about two there’s no direct sun and after about five it’s definitely in the shade. That ruled out any kind of vege that needs to grow big, but we’ve had some success so far. So, just to remind you what the original state of the balcony was like:. And now here it is last weekend:. What is not...

Mutts ‘n’ More. An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later. December 9, 2008, 4:14 pm. Well, I wish it were. With all the news of piracy that’s been cropping up lately in the news; I can’t help but be worried. And now, a recent CNN article has stated that the company for which she will be working, Hapag-Lloyd, has started to fly cruise ship passengers across the Gulf of Aden. Okay, enough moping. I’ll blog reptiles later, but right now, it’s off to class. Leave a Comment so far.

Afarensis: Anthropology, Evolution and Science: Stupid Creationist Quote of the Week
http://mcdougald.blogspot.com/2009/05/stupid-creationist-quote-of-week.html
Thursday, May 14, 2009. Stupid Creationist Quote of the Week. Today we have comments by two commenters at UD. First up is a commenter named Barb. Barb left a rather lengthy comment talking about Lucy. The part that earned her a "stupid creationist quote" award is this:. The paucity of fossil evidence makes knowing all of human evolutionary history impossible. The best evidence for Lucy came, not from bones or teeth, but from footprints. There are over 250 specimens referable to Australopithecus afarensis.

Afarensis: Anthropology, Evolution and Science: Adapidae, Omomyidae and Anthropoid Origins
http://mcdougald.blogspot.com/2005/11/adapidae-omomyidae-and-anthropoid.html
Thursday, November 03, 2005. Adapidae, Omomyidae and Anthropoid Origins. The morphology of both leads to several interesting problems. First, what are the phylogenetic relationships? There are three competing theories. 1) Omomyids share some characteristics with plesiadapiformes and at one time the plesiadapiformes were thought to have given rise to omomyids. In this theory the adapids were considered ancestral to anthropoids and the prosimians (other than tarsiers). Posted by afarensis, FCD. Platynereis...
